i'm thinking about buying basball mogul and i was wondering if there is a difference between the 2004 retail version and the online version? can you not play multi-player w/ the retail version? and if i download 2004 instead of buying at the store, does it come w/ a pdf manual or something? sorry if they are stupid questions, but any help would be appreciated :)

Baseball Mogul Online is a subscription-based service where you pay a monthly fee to play the game against other people. You do not actually need any software to play but just do everything through the browser.

Baseball Mogul 2004 ( CD or download version ) is where you buy the software to use on your own computer. You can then run unlimited numbers of seasons playing solo against the computer or use it to play in an online league with other people who also own the game. There is usually no fee associated with playing in these leagues.

Both games play essentially the same way since they use the same game engine.

Both the CD and download versions feature online help files. The CD ( in the past ) contained a booklet with an outline of features.
