On my thread asking about how tiers work you invited me to take a team. I would like to play in your league. It looks to be shaping up really well.

My preferences in order are

1. New York Mets
2. New York Yankees
3. Colorado Rockies
4. Cleveland Indians

I will try to e-mail you a similar letter but I posted this thread because my 6.0 AOL has been acting up for a while now. Hopefully when I get AOL 7.0 things will be better

This league will be a normal fast sim, 60 games a day for 7 days a week. Whoever doesn't check their team in my league for 1 day is outta the league immediately.

I was wondering if you could post league rules for this new league on this thread. I'm really looking forward to the league, but a one day time limit is kind of unrealistic. I mean I do have a life as I'm sure the other owners in this league do as well. If you cant extend this to 3 days, I might as well join a different league because I know that every once in a while I just wont be able to make it. I guess the only rule that I would really like to see for the league would be no computer trades (and hopefully eventually there wont be any computer teams, so that will solve that too). Hope that you can make that change for me, I know this is supposed to be the most active league, but even the most active players miss a day or two now and then.

no offense...but if you limit it to every day, you are going to have one of two things happen:

-disgruntled owners because you are making them super active so its actualy becomes stressful to be in a league
-not enough owners to fill the league, because you will end up banning so many.

also, i have some advice to all future commish's: although you have the powers to edit salaries and release players and stuff...it is not always a good idea to interfere with the league it might make some players angry :-)

I agree with takaplan. I would hate to see something happen like ending up having to fly out to California because of a family emergency and be banned because I didn't get on for 18 hrs. I think you need to be a bit more realistic about this BBM. I may start having to work 24 hour shifts here pretty soon, which would make me unable to log in for an entire day, but will be VERY active the rest of the time.

I had made it 3 days, so for those who wont be on on saturday or sunday, make their lives easily. If you have an emergency or vacation or something like that, u can contact me before, and prevent your team from being ban.
And when did i ever say i will edit a player cash or their players salary for no reason???

The league rules will been shown in the league forum once our league is created, there is no point u have to know it now and showing it to the whole forum, including our very helpful memeber, takaplan.

I think what genuwinestatuz and kyles want to know the rules so they can see if it is a league they want to be a part of...if people see rules they like, they might be more inclined to join your league.

Ok, A simple League Rules:
1. You have to check your team once every 3 days, or you will be kick out of this league in no time.
2. No trades with computers, as we know right now, this league is still no full yet, so there will have a chance we will have some computer managers. I suggest you don't trade with them, or you will be out of the league no time, too.
3. No cheating, although when this league start, it will be a pay game, but i am still pretty sure there are still cheaters that will still pay to cheat, that's a sad news. If you cheat, bye in no second.
More rules in just an hour or so, busy right now.

Has Clay posted any news on the suggested transaction screen or whatever? It will be kind of hard for managers and commisioners to monitor trades without one... I guess since there are some private leagues already playing surely they (the commisioners) have access to the trades right?

Thanks for considering your managers opinions BBM, I think you will be much more pleased with this league as it has the oppurtunity to have a lot of great managers playing against each other for a long time now. Best of luck to everyone.

This reporter has inside news that Mr. ExEP, formerly GM for the Toronto Tomcats and Chicago Expats is being considered for a position in Seattle. I spoke to him earlier today,
'Well Geoff, I've been having talks with Mr. Nintendo and he has been favorably impressed with my skill at Mario Kart. He expressed some concern that I had done such an excellent job in making LA the great team they are today while I was managing Chicago.'
This reporter feels that Mr. ExEP, is not the right person for Seattle. He may win over the fans with his handsome appearance and suave charm but we mustn't forget, that as a baseball mind he is one base short of an infield.

The think-before-you-post police is coming...

I think maybe what he means is that he was commish of another online BBM league (the old fashioned way, with the CD game) or maybe commish of a fantasy type baseball game...i know i have seen some that resemble BBMO but do not actually sim the games, but use real life performace.

Takaplan is right -- I didn't mean that I was a Commish of a Baseball Mogul league, even. I just meant that I was the Commish of a sim sports league -- we would use an offline game, people would send me lineups, and I would sim three times a week.

BBM, I sent you an e-mail via the forum -- let me know if you didn't get that. I recently took over a computer-controlled team in a league you're in BBM, so you can see what I've done with that team if you're concerned I'll be inactive or a bad GM.

Hope I get to be a part of your league ... I'm looking to be on one league seriously, with as many other active GMs as possible.

My mistake ... I thought you were in Beta 157 Hourly because I saw a post from you in the Beta 157 Hourly forum. I recently took over the Brewers in that league, trying to turn around the last place team for fun. :)

Hey Renato,
If BBM will not let you in his league...may I suggest you join one of the two following leagues:

North American Baseball League...Kohut is the commish and it is the "original" active league...there are a few openings...it is a fastsim in 2008

National Pastime League...Jokerswild is running this new league and there are about 6-8 openings left.

umm,takaplan, u know, he has 3 teams, he can join all of them include mine and those u had just suggested, chill out. And you are not the commisioners of those 2 leagues, i suggest u dont say anything about it.

BBM: I just joined fast sim 67 ... but Chicago A wasn't available -- only Detroit was, so I took that. It actually doesn't seem like a horrible team, which is good. :)

takaplan: I'm interested in those leagues ... if you could send me an e-mail or PM letting me know how to get in touch with the Commishs from those leagues, that would be great. Thanks!

Once again BBM... read before you post... He specifically said he wanted *ONE* league to be serious about... not 3... You don't even know if he bought the 1 team or 3 team package. In any case, he said one, and he now has 3 options. NABL is an excellent league, and very competitive. NBL is Jokers new league which I also am in.. got stuck with the big market Boston team.. awwww shucks.

Renato, i am also in fast sim 49, if u hate the detroit team u have right now(which i hate alot too) you can go to fast sim 49, it has the houston, that team is pretty good, got 100 wins for 3 years in a row and winning the second place by almost 20 games.

GM appointed for the 2001 Seattle team:

Current GM, Pat Gillick has been fired and Mr. ExEP has been appointed in his place. This reporter had the opportunity to interview Mr. ExEP in his plush Seattle Office.
' Well Geoff, I've had a pretty good look at the team as it stands and must say, they are not winners. Some of the guys are really old and as a kid I didn't have cards on any of them. When I walked into the changing room I thought I was in the United Nations. But, Seattle can trust me to get rid of the dross and turn this pathetic team into a winner in several years.'
Rumours are Mr. ExEP did wonders for NABL Toronto and Pittsburg and Enthusiast League Chicago and LA. Unfortunately he only managed the Toronto Tomcats and the Chicago Expats; improvements to the other teams was purely incidental, according to sources close to the GM.
