I have one or two questions. If you have time I'd Appreciate an answer.

1. Does it make a difference if you bring up a rookie immediately or let him stay in the minors for a few years? ie. Will he develope slower or not reach his potential?

2. How does the "mistique" of scouting really work? I have notice frequent changes. Is it based on say a +/- percentage relative to your rank?

3. How do the Expense projections REALLY work? I have tried to recreate them over and over and I can't get your numbers, but I get closer to the end of year actuals.

4. Do you have a job opening?

5. Is the game designed for certain players to perform at certain spots in the Line-up, Rotation, or Pen better than other spots? ie. Batting 3rd rather than 6th

6. Is there a 'protection' pop for power hitters? ie. if McGuire is followed by Sosa, McGuire will perform better because he may see better pitches.

Thanks

Steve:)

Ohhhh....

7. If you send a guy down to the minors due to bad performance, when you bring him back up, it is programmed to have him perform better?

All good questions, but I'd like to add one more: If you have a job opening(s), where do I send my resume?

1.) Players develop normally when they are in the starting lineup. They develop faster in the Minors. They don't develop on the bench.

2.) Your scouts get better if your scouting ranking is better. Not immediately, but over time. Also, remember that players age each year and their skills change. This impacts their scouting reports. And your scouts will probably report something slightly different than another player's scouts -- even about the same player.

3.) Ask Clay.

4.) Do you work inexpensively? :)
We may have some openings for moderators as the subscriber base grows. And if you are a web developer or designer, it never hurts to send in your resume for our files. You can send it to me: james@sportsmogul.com. But it helps if you live near Boston.

5.) My suggestion: Best batter in the cleanup slot. I think the basic rules work best.

6.) I don't think so... But I could be wrong. And in your example, McGwire would be less likely to be intentionally walked...

7.) If the player is still developing, he should perform better over time. If he is past his prime, then more time will only detract from his skills.

Thanks for your questions. And don't be afraid to ask other players--a lot of them know more about this game than I do!
