Hi, I write a post saying the game is not worthy of paying a subscription for, and suddenly I go 1-13, and drop from Wildcard Leader to last place in the division. Previously, with the same lineup, never having only lost 4 in a row once (The season is in late September) . Coincidence?

So, a big good-bye from me. And to think I was even contemplating the $3 a month.

Dturley -

I will admit that I nearly deleted your post immediately, because it is rather insulting.

I don't appreciate the implication that we rigged the game against you just because you expressed a negative opinion.

Let me state for the record that we do not tamper with the results of the simulations. If we have to eject a cheater we do; if we have to act as commissioner, we do. But we do it in an above-board and open manner. We would never ruin somebody's game because we were mad at them.

The truth is, I was unaware that you had expressed a negative opinion, I don't know what league you are in, and I don't know what team you are managing.

If you want to subscribe to Baseball Mogul Online, we welcome you as a customer. If you think the game is not for you, we will be sorry to see you go.

But we strive to treat all our customers with fairness and respect.

Thank you.

I actually like some of the winning and losing streaks the game goes on. It happened to me, in my own league, I was leading the Wildcard race by a significant margin then lost 10 straight. Teams go on skids in real life, I like the fact that it happens in the game. I eventually won the Wild Card Race, but even if I hadn't I still enjoyed it as it made for an interesting playoff race. Losing is not a good reason to dislike a game. In some of the public leagues, the reason I get bored is because I win too easily since there are too many inactive players who don't resign free agents and such. Losing is a part of the challenge and it makes the game fun. The game would be no fun if you won all the time. This is the reason why some people actually like playing as small markets. As for some sort of conspiracy, I doubt it, since it would make no sense for them to single out you in specific with so many users.

Uh, good-bye...

I wouldn't think for a MINUTE that results in BBMO are rigged by the folks at SportsMogul. Even a veiled accusation to that effect to me is ridiculous.

And for the record, I ponied up for the Gold subscription the minute I saw it was available. BBMO is a great game, win or lose, and worthy the support of every roto geek, stat head, and wanna-be GM in America!:D

The original post in this thread has to be one of the most ridiculous I've seen here. I continue to be impressed at the timeliness and quality of responses, game improvements, etc from Clay, James, Ian, et al. Obviously this beta tester didn't understand the game well enough before he gave up on it.

If we live in a country where, as it their constitutional right, 50% + believe Elvis is alive, 80% + believe that some old white guy with a beard who no one can see, hear taste, smell or feel is controlling their destiny, and who knows how many believe the government is involved in conspiracy with aliens; what is so hard to believe that some guy in some on-line demo somewhere took offense to my critique and tanked my team?

Not that they did of course, as they seem to be honest, but I have never met them, know nothing of their personalities, didn't see any statements in which they explain how their system is tamper-proof, or even a brief description of the statistical algorithms it runs, or how such attributes are assigned to particular players.

Ok, here is a statment.

Our system is tamper-proof because we don't have enough employees to allow luxeries like spending time messing with players because they said something we didn't like. :D

Oh yeah, and also because we are not that kind of people.

Guys, this post is living proof that they don't have enough staff or time to mess with leagues - poor Ian doesn't even have enough time to do a spell-check of his own posts! :D

Just kidding, Ian!

Hey...
Making the claim that the leagues are rigged is ludacrist. Sounds like a sore loser to me. And if someone is to seriously make those comments, personally I am not to upset he left BBMO.

Probably the best aspect of Sports Mogul is their customer service, and how quickly they answer our posts. Way to go Clay, James, and Ian!

BTW, where's Dee been lately?
