Clay, Dee, or James,
For some reason, I can't get my Baseball Mogul Online login screen or www.baseballmogul.com to display at all since I got Internet Explorer 6. IE 6 works just like IE 5 for every website except this one, Janus.com, and Wachovia.com. I tried to find a solution on Microsoft.com help, but they were all about IE 5. It was working fine under IE 5, but when I upgraded to 6, it always says "This page can't be displayed. DNS Error."
Do you guys know why this is happening or does the website not work in IE 6? Have other IE 6 users had any problems? I have Windows 98 if that helps. Let me know as soon as possible because I would like to check my team from my house instead of from the local college. Either email me or reply here.
Thanks a lot,
Craig

Hi, Craig -
I am able to use IE 6 with Win 2000 from work.
The fact that it says DNS error may indicate the problem lies elsewhere... But I'm not sure where.
I'll forward this to Ian for him to think about.
Let me know if you get things working...

Ok, well maybe it is a Windows 98 problem. I don't know. I have tweaked with almost everything to be able to display the page, but nothing has worked. It can't be my computer or internet provider because I can see every other website except 3 fine.
I'm pretty sure it has something to do with IE 6 since it displayed fine on IE 5, but I don't know what. If Ian or you discover anything else, please let me know.
Thanks

Craig -
What URL are you plugging into IE when you try to play Baseball Mogul Online?
I notice you mention www.baseballmogul.com in your post.
Try opening www.sportsmogul.com then clicking the left hand link for "Online Games - Baseball" and click "Check on the Progress of your Teams"
Does that change anything?

I normally go straight to the login screen. But I have tried baseballmogul.com, sportsmogul.com, and my login screen, but nothing works. Also, I deleted all my cookies, but I still had the problem.
Is there anything else to do?

Craig -
This is a stumper...
Do you have Netscape installed? Can you access our site with that?
At what point can you no longer access our site? Since you are posting on the boards, I assume you can acces our home page and the discussion boards.
Is it when you try access the login page that you get the DNS error? Or can you log in at all?
On a hunch, because you're seeing a DNS error, why don't you try using our IP address to access the game. Type this into your browser:
http://65.165.71.10
See if that gets you anywhere...

I have Netscape 6.1, and that doesn't work either.
I can't access any of this site at all. The reason I have been able to check in is because I'm using my school's computer to do so. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to check in at all.
On my home computer, I'm unable to get in at all. I have no problem with other sites except the other 2 I mentioned earlier.
I get the "Cannot find server or DNS error, page can't be displayed" error when I either try to go to login, go to www.baseballmogul.com, or www.sportsmogul.com. So, I can't get in at all. Not even to just the regular home page. So, I have the www.baseballmogul.com bookmarked, and instead of speedily taking me to the site, it takes forever and then it says the error. Same happens when I try to go to sportsmogul.com and when I try to go straight to my login.
I haven't tried the IP address so I will try that.
Thanks for all the help. Hopefully, something will work soon.

Since you can't access our home page either, then try the following address:
http://65.165.71.200
And another thing to test:
From the Start menu, select Programs, "MS-DOS Prompt"
When you get the DOS window, type:
ping www.sportsmogul.com
You should see some information beginning with:
Pinging www.sportsmogul.com [65.165.71.200] with 32 bits of data.
If you get the message:
Unknown host www.sportsmogul.com
then there is a DNS error in your system or at your ISP.
In that case, I think you'll need to call your ISP and ask them for support...
By the way -- to exit the MS-DOS prompt, type "exit"
Cheers,
James

I tried pinging 65.165.71.200, and this is what I got:
Reply from 161.115.190.243: Destination Host unreachable.
When I tried to ping some other sites, they worked fine.
I hope this helps.
