I just don't understand this:
BOTTOM OF THE SECOND
Mike Mahoney grounded to first.
Gookie Dawkins singled up the middle.
Gookie Dawkins stole second.<=====On second base leading off towards third
Todd Stottlemyre grounded to second for a double play.<==Ground ball to 2nd?
0 runs, 1 hit, 0 errors, and 0 left on base.
At the end of the second, Chicago leads 1 to 0.

How could Stottlemyre ground into a double play to second??? Dawkins is somewhere between 2nd and 3rd. I can see him running on the play and getting tagged by the shortstop or 3rd baseman but the 2nd baseman got him???
It was a ground ball so no lineout double play possible...
Anybody have any idea of what could have happened? An exagerated reverse Barry Bonds shift with everyone playing left of 2nd except for the 1st baseman?

Grounder to second. Second basemen throws to third, R2 tagged out. 3B throws to first for double play.

It's as simple as that.

No way. The runner going to 3rd should force a rundown allowing the batter to get to first. He would've had to throw to first and then get tagged out at 3rd. Maybe he tripped on the way to 3rd.

So the 2nd baseman threw to third where my runner had to be tagged out (not a force play on this) and then throw all the way across the diamond for a tag on the runner?
Not likely to happen.....
Even if the guy fell between second and third the 2nd baseman would have to either run over to tag him out or throw to the SS or 3rd baseman. All these sound very unlikely to me. The average player gets to 1st in 4.1 sec. Allowing for this being the pitcher we'll give him 5 sec on the play. That is still not enough time (in my opinion) to get the lead runner and throw back.

I believe that this is a previously recorded bug. The AI "Forgot" that the steal happened.

It's as simple as that.

Thought that was fixed.....
