View Full Version : Duplicate teams in private leagues?

I just endeavored to create a private league, and upon trying to choose which team to play learned that the team I wanted had been BLOCKED OUT, ostensibly because I held the same franchise in a public league.

What gives? Just because I hold the same team in a public league shouldn't preclude me from owning the same franchise in a private league. Ian? James?

You cant have the same teams in both public and private. Clay made this feature because he doesn't want players keep having the same team and dominating in every league. For example, the boston red sox.

I understand the concept behind not having the same team in two public leagues, but being prohibited from assuming control over any team you like in a league you've created is, at least to me, ludicrous.

Thanks for bringing this up.

This could be a rule whose time has passed.

We'll discuss this tomorrow and let you know.

Meanwhile, it looks like Ian has already changed the settings for private leagues. See this thread:

Thanks, James...

I wasn't able to read the post in the other thread, as on one of the computer I access to play BBMO I can't read certain text (and consequently access threads or otherwise function within the board without extensive navigation tricks) within the vBulletin software.

I'm at a machine now that I can read all vBulletin text now, and I've voted pretty much along the lines of everyone else - keep the separate team requirement in the public leagues, but in the private ones, let me be Montreal (or Chicago, or whomever) as many times as I want.
