Ok.. For my NABL team, the Astros.. I had a budget of 255 (which I think is too low anyway since it keeps dropping)

and then I released Jeff Bagwell (salary of 2 with one year left) and my budget dropped to 251.

I'm very confused.

I've seen this sort of thing happen too. Usually this happens when I trade a marquee player so that I can free up some playing time for a prospect. I actually think it's a good thing that makes sense (assuming it is part of the coding) - the revenues of the team should be based on the star quality players you have as they can help bring fans to the stadium, increase TV ratings, etc.

I really really really really really really hate the new affects to this game. Keep dropping our budget and revenu, my team was earning 800 points 2 years before, 650 last year and 550 this year, what the heck is going on?? Stop this nonsense!! BTW, during this stupid revenu dropping, my team was just getting more wins, and keep losing money.

Well the limit is partly based on the amount of cash your team has. Hence if you released a player with a big contract it would subtract money from your team and your limit would go down.

Yep. Marquee players increase attendance. This includes future Hall Of Fame players that are no longer posting superstar stats (e.g. Ripken and Gwynn).

That's a great feature Clay because it is very true to life. I've seen it play out a few times in the game and the realism of it impresses me.
