I'm SICK and TIRED of the extremely low offence in the game .I have seen many people complain about the need to increase offense for Very Long time yet it does not change.
In the NABL the batting avg for the entire league in 2008 is .2439
That is flat out disgusting .
Every pitcher is at least good with many being great .
Clay and Co. you must fix this within next 2 weeks or 4-6 GM's that I have spoken with will quit (me for sure)
Post some feedback please.

Dont worry rob, I know Clay had added a patch to this online game, and i am seeing significant changes, I am starting to get more better batters rookies, even weak positions like SS and C.
BTW, rob, are you going to leave NABL or both NABL and this game??

Give it a couple of weeks for things to shake out. I've noticed in the NABL that the quality of hitter comking into the league is better, and teh quality of pitcher less - overall.
It will probably take a good 10 seasons to balance everything out, while the great pitchers from the previous 6 seasons age and retire, but it definitely looks like it is headed in the right direction.

I've seen a lot of A contact A power hitters the last couple in the NABL of seasons since the last patch. These hitters are young though and it will take a couple of seasons before they start having an impact. Once these young "A" hitters reach their prime scoring should increase significantly.

I recommend sticking with BBMO through these problems. The staff is just trying to improve the game and some mistakes are going to be made in the process. My longterm experience with the CD games over the years has been very positive. Clay and his team always work things out. Unfortunately some problems take longer to fix than others.
I think everyone should also know that for some time now the Sports Mogul staff has been hit with a nasty fall cold. Clay is sick himself now as the staff passes it around to each other. They have been working pretty hard getting BBMO up and running and now they have to fight illness on top of everything else. So hang tough and give them a chance to get well and I think you will see things get better in the next few weeks.
I'm not the most patient person myself but in this case patience is the best remedy.

I just thought of a possible temporary solution to the problems of hitting in the NABL. Why don't you reset the league back to 2001. The hitting problems don't seem to emerge until several seasons have passed. And now is the perfect time to reset with the 29th of October approaching and the end of beta testing upon us.
If you re-start by the time several seasons have passed I'm sure the problem will be licked. Also your long term stats for Hall of Fame voting will then be more realistic as well. And as BBM and Particleman have indicated recent patches have already been made to rookie development which makes the game somewhat self-regulating. By re-starting much of the problem may already be solved.
Anyway I hope this suggestion helps.

No way should we restart :-) The hitting is not a huge problem, and it will fix over time. The beta testing period ending on the 22nd, not the 29th.
I don't know why everyone is complaining about the hitting being so poor, it isn't that great but you learn to adapt to it. I think it makes the game more fun, having to adapt to different time periods where the game changes.

I'm not really complaining about it per se Tom, but when in late July your league's home run king has 12, and when you can forget about signing any free agents other than pitchers, it does tend to take away from the game somewhat, adapt or not.

If you want to appreciate the hitters in your league a lot more, just look up the "Dead Ball" era of baseball. Frank "Home Run" Baker won numerous home run crowns with totals of 8-13 home runs for the entire season and is I remember correctly Ty Cobb won a home run crown in that era as well. The good news is that baseball survived this time rather well and still produced some incredible player (both pitchers and hitters) that have helped shape baseball history and pave the way to the excitement players like Babe Ruth and others brought to the game. Don't get me wrong, I love the Earl Weaver "Pitching and Three Run Homers" wins ballgames theory (and he was right). But the point is that you it is just as much fun to find ways to win as it is to sit back and wait for the three run homers to fly. Besides think of how cool it will be 10 or so sim years from now to see the next generation of great power hitters to be born. Look out Barry Bonds!!!
I don't see what's the problem with hitting. If you think hitting prospects are not good, just look at rpeiper's milwaukee team in All-Star and florida team in NABL. Don't tell me those prospects do not impress you, he raised them himself. They're now known as his starting outfield
