for the longest time...as far back i can remember watching tv and paying attention to sports...
ive been a clipper fan.
it was a surprising development as i look back.
being is southern california, and being in orange county (neighbor to los angeles), my father was a huge lakers fan. my younger brother by 2 years also became a lakers fan, watching magic and worthy and AC and byron, and rambis, and riley, and cooper, et al.
for some reason, perhaps i was entering my rebelling years early, at age 6, i rooted for the clippers. they had a couple good players then, ron harper, danny manning. but, they lost a lot then too.
so since the mid 80s, ive been a fan...taking on the mases of lakers fans.
in junior high, they laughed at stanley roberts and john williams, mark aguire and mark jackson, but i loved them all, ...well except randy wood.
ive endured harold ellis and matt fish and all the cba guys that became clippers for a season or two.
ive survived the sorriest draft picks. i felt sorry for loy vaught. i cheered piatkowski. i embraced darius miles.
**** danny ferry. **** lorenzen wright. **** brian skinner.
when the clippers traded darius miles, i was skeptical as ****. after
they had a very disappointing 2002 season, i felt they destroyed what they were building. the chemistry disappeared. andre miller played like cameron dollar's talent and shanw bradleys heart. **** andre miller.
as a new draft approaches...
who should the clippers select?
i say go as blue chip as possible.
get that 7'4-7'5 center Pavel Podkolzine, since we'll lose olowokandi after 2003. FORGET CHRIS KAMAN!
or lets trade up to get #2 or 3. trade lamar odom!
****, id even setle for chris bosh.
lets get tyson chandler back. or if we cant, lets trade down to get Sofoklis Schortsanitis, who looks like eddy curry.
i say dont get caught like the minnesota vikings (who happens to be my fave NFL team just around the time i got passionate about the clippers).
my pick at #6: chris bosh, and he wont be there, trade down to get podkolzine, or up to get #3.
clips pick: chris kaman.
if that happens,
ill never go to another clips game again.
