winter and astros

How long is the winter in these leagues?
i have a 10 game a day sim and i just joined, so in effect when do i get to play? The date on the sim is nov 28.

Also, I joined the astros and i am a little concerned becasue players like Oswalt and Hernandez are not in the system. I just want
to know if i have to just take it like a man or if i can expect them later?

You don't say what year it is in your league, but it's clear that the league has already been playing for a while before you joined.

Unfortunately, the players you are looking for have most likely been traded to another team. Use the "Find Players" feature and you should be able to see which team they are on. If you really want them back, you might be able to make a trade for them.

During the winter months, 1 month goes by for each day of real time. So the new season should begin in about 5 days.

If you want to stick with this league, take advantage of this time to do the free agent bidding, which is going on right now. This will give you a chance to replace the players you are missing, and maybe get some better guys.

If you want to start with a fresh team, instead, search for a new league and select the checkbox "New Leagues Only"

Actually, it sounds like my league he's talking about. Back in the beta testing days, we had some problems with cheating, which lead to giving commissioners additional powers to stop that sort of thing. Unfortunately, we are still recovering from the damage done, as well as losing a lot of players when the game went pay. Once I have a good number of people in the game, I'll be resetting the league, so everything will be starting from the beginning, and you'll have your players like Oswalt and Hernandez back, and the game will start at April 2001.

Cheap Plug: If anyone wants to join my league, there are still plenty of openings left. It is a slow sim (10 sims/day), weekday only league.
