I just looked at my Calendar for the last week of September in the MAL custom league. I am the New York Yankees.
I had not clinched my division and ultimately lost by two games to Boston. I was one game back on September 30 and could have tied with a win by my team and a loss by Boston.
Even though I had not yet clinched and ultimately lost the division my number four and five starters started every game from September 22 on except for the last game. Returning from the dentist I changed the starter for the last game eitherwise my number four and five starters would have gone four times each in the last eight days of play.
This glitch must be fixed. I needed to use my number one and two and three starters for the stretch drive against Boston but they were not used at all. In addition, now my number four and five starters are exhausted for the playoffs and my bullpen has been overused.
Why not just return things to the way they were before. Let managers rest their pitchers if they want. That's what they do in real life.
I understand the code was changed to rest pitchers when a team clinches but in this case there was a pennant drive and no starters should have been rested. There is definitely an error in the programming.
I should also mention that Boston started pitching their number four and five starters exclusively also but only for the last four days of the season. I suspect they switched over the moment they went into first place.
I strongly suspect that this huge glitch has all first place teams using their fourth and fifth starters in the last week of the season
regardless of whether they have clinched or not.
Sorry for the long post but I thought Clay would want to know about this.:)
