Two problems.

One:

You have someone trying to sign up for a new account, but he had problems with the email validation. Nobody associated with Sports Mogul seemed to bother to help him fix it, and after what appears to be four days, he was finally forced to find a solution on his own. I would think you'd want to be more proactive when it comes to gaining new players.

Two:

There is a huge problem with your billing right now. According to Internet Explorer, your secure server certification from VeriSign has expired. Once again, a confidence breaker. How am I supposed to know your new billing system is secure when the only people I have to tell me that it is happens to be you?

I've remained quiet over the last few months, but since I am paying for this folley of service again, I'm gonna start raising my concerns again.

I'm actually one of those he is speaking of and I did eventually get it fixed but I had to open a hotmail account and go through that before I got the email. My home, work, and even my brothers account did not recieve any validation emails from Sports Mogal. So something is wrong and I know its not me.

So now that I am finally validated again I wanted to play again. But I dont see anywhere that the site is more secure. Also like the3rdwiseman004 said above that old verisgn link is still there, and expired. It would be nice to see somewhere updated that your site our important information is secure. I guess I will wait to play until I feel more confident. Anyway... Clay I emailed you back reguarding the validation. I dont think its just me.

I was exchanging e-mail with Gargoyledawn over the past few days and Ian looked into the e-mail not going through. What he found was that the messages were getting bounced and the best response we could offer was to try again in 24 hours in case there was something wrong with his e-mail server. I realize this might not be the only case, but it's the first time I remember anyone reporting that their validation e-mail wasn't getting through.

As for Verisign, you're right that we need to take down that logo. What we learned from the security breach is that Verisign isn't worth the photons it's printed on (and frankly gave me a false sense of security) -- so we've chosen not to pay to renew it.

Well, I guess this thread answers my question about why I haven't gotten my validation key email yet.

Shame. I'm in a free play by email league that's become stalled for god knows how much longer, and wanted to check out the official game to see if I could actually get to play a bit.

edit: I've tried three times now, using two email addresses that go to my isp, and one netscape mail address.

No key.

Hey Rand,

We're still trying to resolve this issue but we haven't been able to figure out a better solution than "get a hotmail account". It looks like our e-mail is being interpreted as spam by some of the major ISPs.
