View Full Version : My opponent is bolded and we are tied at season's end

I have the New York Yankees in the MAL league. The 2005 season has just ended and I'm tied with Tampa Bay at 99-93. We are tied for the fourth best record in the league so I'm assuming a one-game playoff will determine the wild card team.

His team, however, is bolded on both the standings page and on the summary page. He is also listed above me in the standings although not on the summary page. I would have thought in case of a tie the teams would be listed in alphabetical order on the standings page.

Anyway, what I want to be sure about is that there is no pre-determination going on. Clay has addressed this issue once before but it sure looks disturbing seeing my opponent bolded out on both the standings page and on the summary page.

So is this just a technicality? Has the computer just randomly bolded one of the teams or has it already determined a winner?

My playoff game gets simmed in about forty minutes and I thought you would want to know about this ASAP. I hope this is not a glitch but at least now you what's going on.:)

I won the playoff game although I promptly got swept in the playoffs. Obviously one team being bolded is just a technicality and does not indicate any predetermination.

I'm sorry I got worried about this but it sure looked disturbing. Maybe you could leave both teams unbolded whenever there is a tie like this.

Why appologize? This is definitely a bug, and needs to be corrected!

Your opponent may have just gotten royally screwed, since the game rotates the 4 and 5 pitchers for the last week of the season - if it thought that he had locked in a playoff spot.

What league team, and season are you. I may have been the team that was on top of you in the standings.

In NABL, I was Los Angeles.

I believe that we have found this bug today.

There was a small bug in the way a team decided that they had clinched, but we were unable to find it until we could actually reproduce the problem. We happened to get lucky in a sim were were running here, and Clay thinks he has fixed the bug.

We'll test it a bit, then release it to the game.

Cheers, and thanks for pointing this out.

FYI, the new code posted on November 13th should have fixed this. If not, let me know.
