There is a minor league pitcher on the New York (A) in EML...
His name is McMahon.
That's it. No first name, just McMahon.
Kinda weird.

I bet his first name is Jim. Does he wear a white headband? ;)

For some reason there are several players with no 1st name. I had a Gardner once. Kind of cool like Ichiro or Prince (except Gardner wasn't very good).
Best name ever for a prospect was a pitcher named Zelig Livshits. People were offering trades just for the names (he was not very good).

That's my favorite name so far. Makes me think of a '70s porn star.

I had Dennis Miller in one of my leagues. Got a few points for him just because of the name
I think I have a reason for the lack of the first name. I inherited a team a few weeks ago to find that there was this minor league pitcher on the team named just Vandemortel. I looked on the offense to find a minor league player named Felix Vandemortel. You're starting to piece together what I'm saying, right?Try to see if the same is true with your players that lack first names. It might just have been a coincidence.

I think that I have an idea why we are getting players without a first name. The names were taken from an electronic phone book of San Francisco. Some people do not have their first names listed in the phone book so this might be the reason why some players don't get one.
This will explain also why Baseball Mogul teams scout so heavily in Asia :)
It really cracks me up that there is a real person out there named Livshits. I bet he had a tough time in school...
It could be because there is a blank in the first name file.
My favourite name was Constance Sin.

Livshits is actually a Jewish name. Don't make fun of it. There are lots of people with weird names out there. But why there are more Kwongs and Urians than Jacksons and Williams does not make sense to me.
