Okay, gang. Here's the deal:
After the games of Friday, 12 Dec 2003, play in the Independent League (original) and Independent League Customized will be temporarily paused. A third league, Independent League Equalized, will play its current season then also be paused, indefinitely.
Immediately after the pause, both IL and ILC will be reset, and over the ensuing several days I will be working on behind-the-scenes things (revising rules, updating the long-dormant web site, etc.) - keeping in communication with current and new owners as things progress. The leagues will be restarted once I have completed the tasks I have to perform - and once ownership levels are at a level I'm comfortable with (probably 15-20 for each league).
In the meantime, if you have an interest in playing in either league, please feel free to jump in now - I'll be giving those owners who are around at the time of the reset an as yet undetermined cash bonus.
The original Independent League has played a total of 111 seasons, while Independent League Customized has 47 years of play in its history. Here's a chance to help bring back what many say was one of BBMO's best leagues ever (the Independent League), and the only one (Independent League Customized) where you can run a team in exotic locations like...
- Sao Paulo, Brazil,
- Oslo, Norway, and of course, the ever-popular...
- Youngstown, Ohio!
Anyway, if you'd like to join a new league or have been awaiting my herald to rejoin one of the leagues - now's the time. I hope to see you all there!
