So far, I think the tacit assumption has been that the best league is a league with 30 human owners and 0 computer owners. But for many, this isn't the case. Computer teams have the advantages of responding instantly to trades. And it's usually easier to make the playoffs if there are a few computer teams in your league.

So, I pose the question, what do you feel is the IDEAL number of human GMs (out of 30) in a Baseball Mogul Online League?

Clay, the reason most ppl hate computers are becuase they are really poor for challenge. They need to be much smarter like us GM's and make smart decisions.

Clay:

Very interesting poll. I agree somewhat with your thoughts on the quick response by the computer GM's the only problem is that most of the time it is a negative response. Of course that could be contributed to my type of trade demands as well.
In the leagues I am in Beta 11 there are 5 humans; Beta 72 & Beta 75 there is just me. That is definitely not a good situation.
I think going the max though is unrealistic so I voted for 20 to 24.

In the Banana League we have 30 human owners right now - at least technically. It doesn't seem that they're all active though - most are but not all. I'd rather have a computer run team than an inactive human team.

I voted for 20-24 human run teams because I think the mix of human and computer strategy makes the game more interesting and having some computer GMs can probably help us improve the game more easily than if it is all humans.

I have to stick with a full 30 or as close as possible, with only temporary holes as some players come and go.

In all the leagues I am in, it is explicitly forbidden to trade with computer teams. In my experience, the AI makes less than optimum trade choices in general and personally I don't find much joy in beating the AI. If I did I would probably have stayed with the boxed goods game.

Lack of human teams is the reason I had to finally drop my favorite beta league. Agreed, an AI opponent is better than an inactive human and that is why the commissioners need to keep weeding their leagues for that sort or problem.
