I'm afriad I can't be certain what happened to your team, particularly since I don't know the name of the league.

If you joined a private league (one created by a user) I would guess that perhaps the commissioner disbanded it for some reason. Commissioners do have the ability to disband a league that they created, but hopefully they don't do it very often or else other players won't want to join their leagues.

I'm sorry you lost your team. If you want to try a public league, those can't be disbanded by other users.
