During the last sim, my triple A pitchers were used without me putting them into the lineup.
Did that happen with anyone else?? is that something that usuallyhappens? or did someone
get ito my account and change stuff around. When I logged in today the putchers were still
in AAA but they pitched. SOmeone help!

This is why the minor leaguers pitched...
Quoted from help files:
During the last week of the season, the computer will automatically avoid using a team's top 3 starters if that team has already clinched a playoff spot. This feature makes sure they are as well-rested as possible for the post-season.

Does this also occur when the team that has clinched a playoff spot is playing against a team still in the postseason hunt? Let's say Team A and Team B are seperated by 1 game with 3 left. Team A is going against a team that's already clinched, and Team B is going against a team already eliminated. Thereby, Team B faces the opponent's 1-3 starters, while Team A faces 3 of the opposition's AAA relievers. Wouldn't this give an unfair advantage to Team A?

But a manager is under no obligation to help out another team. If I were managing I'd rather set up my rotation for the playoffs than make sure I wasn't giving an opposing team an advantage in their playoff hunt.

isn't there some obligation to field as competitive a team as possible, especially in games that still count, which would preclude using pitchers with endurance of zero to start games against teams in a playoff hunt? I understand that although realistically a manager starting a couple of broken-down relievers would be greatly chastised in this situation, realistically a manager would also have expanded rosters by this point in the season. The expanded rosters give the real MLB more flexibility. Still, I would think if you're not the team that's already clinched, but the team vying against that team playing the team that's already clinched, and they're playing against AAA relievers and you're hitting top-of-the-rotation starters, you'd feel differently.
I'm not advocating expanding the rosters. What I would suggest is a three-day period between the last game of the regular season and the first game of the playoffs. This way, if necessary, a team's spot starter could start the final day of the regular season and that day and the three off days before the playoffs would give all starters a full four days rest.
I've also seen where a starter had 19 wins and would have had an opportunity to get his 20th, but was skipped over due to resting before the playoffs, and I would have preferred to have the starter try for his 20th but wasn't given the choice.

if I were the team who had to face the tougher rotation, but there's nothing that says baseball has to be fair.
I don't know if this actually ever becomes a problem since your last 3 games are almost always going to be against your division I think (is this actually true??) and therefore, you - and the other team you're fighting for the wild card - both have to be playing your division leaders in the last week, which I don't think comes up too often.
I think bringing up the AAA players represents the expanded rosters, just that maybe there need to be more minor league players with better endurance. I think that's more realistic than postponing the playoffs an extra few days and pushing the series back into November.
