I really think that defensive leaders should be viewable. Something to think about.

What I'd like to see if a permanent record of awards (Cy Young, MVP, etc) that a player receives during his lifetime, including Gold Gloves. This should appear somewhere on the scounting report.

I think that defensive stats should be recorded but the Range Factor stat that is used now is not that usefull. It is not a bad stat by any means but something a bit more sophisticated like Defensive Zone Rating would be better. A pitching staff with a lot of power pitchers tends to reduce RF due to the K's. Also bench players get a bum deal in RF.

If a player is regularly substituted for at the end of the game it hurts his range factor, even though it would be excellent otherwise. And true, the player substituting gets an even worse range factor, since the two players are splitting the putouts.

This reminds me about the sometimes wacky substitutions the computer manager does late in the game. This really seems to be visible in the playoffs, when your superstar gets taken out for a defensive player with a worse defensive rating, and the sub gets the key error to lose the game.

I wonder if during the playoffs, it makes sense to have a farm team with the worst defensive players on the team. Will this cut back on the poor substitutions? Just a thought...
