Can you fix trading in the post-season?

I don't know if this has been discussed before, but I have found that following the world series, you can trade away all your potential free-agents prior to there release. It seems a bit unrealistic to be able to trade soon to be free agents after the season is over. I've only played the single player version of BM 2003, so I don't know if this has been fixed in BM2004, or perhaps will be fixed in 2005? I can understand other teams trying to trade to get "hometown" discounts, but often they just release them because they can't afford them.

This got fixed in the last unofficial patch for Mogul 2004 ( 6.21 I think ) so we should assume that it is fixed for 2005

It is fixed in BB2K5. (I just checked).
