When I go to Find Players the variables I set to dictate what I am looking for is still set to Letter Grades, ABC etc, and it never finds anything...no matter what I try. Is this something that needs to be fixed?

same here, the grade variables dont make sense, you have to set everything to D- or F

Is that the problem? That we have ot use grades when the ratings have changed to numbers?
Edit: See here....

I love the features in this game, but it sounds like a patch needs to be released, every team loses a ton of money the first year, players dissapear, and the find players option is a little strange. But the number ratings i do like, it makes it more difficult.

I don't know how the ABCD ranking in the find player window means, but it seems pretty harsh. I searched for a nice player and I cannot find any one with any criteria higher than B-. Finally I get this window (attached file), and those players are pretty good pitchers with such only D ranking. I don't know about this, but there must be something wrong. It seems here D means >80, and B might means >100... don' t know anyone'll get an A

That doesn't seem to be a bug. You got good players. It seems more of an incovinence (sorry i'm not a good speller) but if it's in the new baseball mogul(05) which it seems shouldn't the search be by number ratings not Letter ratings?

I had the same thing. Nowadays I just steal (trade for) a player or two from the top of the draft, works like find player used to anyway.

The Find Player feature doesn't seem to work in Baseball Mogul 2005. Whereas the players are now rated on a numerical scale from 1 to 100, the Find Player feature uses alphabetical ratings like the ones in Baseball Mogul 2004. In addition, there doesn't seem to be a correspondence between the numerical ratings of the players and the alphabetic ratings in the Find Player feature. For example, I was trying to find young second basemen with high Eye ratings. When I set Eye to "D" (with the other ratings set to "F"), I received no hits. At an Eye rating of "D-", I got a lot of hits and lots of them had Eye ratings greater than 70. If there was a correspondence between the players' numerical ratings and the Find Player's alphabetic ratings, it would seem to be something like F=0, D=25, C=50, B=75, A=100. Even if this is not exact, I would have expected to get some hits on my search for second basemen with Eye set to "C", not to mention "B" or "B-".

Hopefully this will be updated later to let you choose numeric values for the stats.

When I am trying to Find Players, or searching for free agents the ratings(Eye, Contact, Power, Control, etc) are soo askew. For instance, when I look for a speedster, & I put a "A" in for speed there are no players. Juan Pierre & Alex Sanchez are rated "C" in speed. Same thing w/ all of the other catergories, Bonds is only a "B" in power, hitters of the likes of Bagwell are "D+" in power. I am really hoping this is just a bug & not the actual ratings. Can anyone suggest anything or has this happened to anyone else? ? ?

BBM 2K5 uses number ratings now not letters.
Unofficial patch 7.02 uses the number ratings in the find player dialog and is very accurate.
