How are the salary demands? Any signs of Clay & Ian curtailing the inflation rate?

Did one season just to see what the free agents would ask ...

POSITION PLAYERS $ / YR (AVG - HR in '04)
Edmonds 18.5 / 6 (.325 - 34)
Piazza 13.5 / 5 (.294 - 43)
Berroa 12.9 / 5 (.305 - 12)
Lugo 12.1 / 5 (.298 - 16)
Cintron 11.6 / 5 (.304 - 20)

PITCHERS $ / YR (ERA - IP in '04)
Schmidt 15.5 / 6 (3.69 - 202.2)
Wood 15.2 / 6 (4.04 - 162.2)
Prior 14.3 / 3 (2.82 - 198.0)
Wagner 13.3 / 5 (3.44 - 73.1)
Percival 12.9 / 4 (3.03 - 89.0)

Dunno if that's what you were wanting to see ... still seems pretty pricey to me, since Vlad got $14, and shortstops are still over-valued.

Thanks, that helps. Guess I'll hold off on this one for the time being.

Jeff,

this game rocks, but you should try the demo once it comes out to see if you like it.

The game is the best yet!

The official position of the Sports Mogul Reserve Board on inflation at this point is that a carefull watching of the player salaries is a possible position that we are considering looking into.

Wow if you were a little kid or dumber than me (which is pretty dumb anyways) you might not understand what Ian just said

In all fairness though I only addressed it a little bit.

I tested the game for a while in May and found that it was too easy to grab great players relatively cheaply, so I cranked things back up before we shipped.

What I would like to do is a add a slider so that individual users can experiment -- that's more accurate than me playing 10 seasons.

A slider would be awesome. one thing that would probably get rid of players asking for too much money would be free agent bidding.

Decided to buy the game anyway. :)

Loaded 1998 into v7.01 and salaries look good. Only about a dozen players are earning above 15M and Junior is the only one of those who isn't a pitcher.

Two years later: 15 players earning above 15M and four of them are shortstops. Only four pitchers in the bunch now.

To me Wells' demand was more reasonable him being younger and a better prospect. Delgado has good carrer numbers but 15.2 mil and your getting old come on.
