I know this was addressed before by many of you, but is there a way to not lose ridiculous amounts of money in the first season?
Also, does it get better in year 2 or 3?
I've searched for this from before and can't find it.
Thanks,
phil

are you using the dont load stats that came with the game. That universe has the cities in the wrong place!

Nope,
I just play a regular season game with the cubs sports mogul created and i lose money like crazy. Even if I trade away everyone who makes over 1 m.

I will try again.

2004 file

I do not click down to "Don't Load Stats".
I haven't downloaded anything yet b/c I am waiting for either a patch or a download that is completely finished.

i dont know if this will address your problem or not, go to league Editor, then see which city your team is in, I think it should be right, but I could be wrong......Losing money I believe might be address in the next patch!

BoomBoom,
Know what? I remember this before I went to bed. For some reason i went to the finances page and went to payrolll budget. It was down to 20 million. I was paying players at 30 million. Now I start again and it's at 70 million. Is this supposed to change based on gaining or losing money?

Edit: The Cubs do play in Chicago. :)

Edit #2: After one week, I've lost 2 million dollars and my payroll budget has dropped from 70.6 to 31.7 million.

The salaries are all wrong and the universe has every team losing money, wtf

I believe the Lahman Files do not contain salaries, if they do Baseball Mogul can not read them, the game doesnt do inflation, so if you play in 1930 Babe Ruth might ask for 20million, instead of the 80,000 he actually got. Same goes for 2004, the game makes salaries for the players, based on the ratings of Players,

about the universe losing money, the universe is the dont load stats choice, all the cities are in the wrong place.....all the teams are going to lose money! and with 2004.csv file, i believe it is a bug when if you are indebt you lose all your players at the end of the season.

Scorey's newest rosters work on 2k5 so far. And the money seems fixed too. I'm pleased.

sorry, I'm talking about the latest posted on "Scorey's Universe" for mogul 2k4. It works well, but for some reason starts my in 2003 even though I am playing 2005. But it's fun until the official patch and Scorey's new rosters are availible.
