A poll about the format for the CD-ROM version ... and some indication of how many units we need to manufacture.

I prefer going to a store and buying an actual cd over paying for a download..
Of course, as long as I can try it first, then I'll be waiting on it...

Something simple like a DVD case with the Mogul cover should suffice.

voted for cardboard box but will take either format, i just (desperately) want there to be a cd-rom version. not having a backup copy makes me nervous and i've heard too many horror stories about CDR degredation to trust it to a burnt copy.
assuming there is to be a cd-rom version, will it be available a) in stores b) directly from sportsmogul or c) both? thanks.

if you buy and download the game from the site, will you be receiving a hard copy of the game on CD-ROM in the mail also (just like previous years)? thanks.

i like the hard copy...
plus i try to turn new people on to the game all the time... its easier to get them to buy the software from a game store for $19.95 than having them DL it from a site theyve never been to.
whatevers cheaper to manufacture
and less expensive to buy.

I would love to beable to buy a cd version of the game, In a box or DVD case, i would just do whichever is cheaper....
i think the best is the CD case.... that comes from inside the box only.... and leave out the box, most people just throw that away.

i left this in another thread
If we already downloaded the game, is it possible to get the CD version of the game for a cheaper price, maybe $10.00 if we provide proof we bought the game?

I just closed this poll after someone voted on it. The thing is, this poll was started in in 2004, fer crying out lout. You guys, you gotta realize that voting on polls "bumps" the thread to the top of the forum again. If you want to answer the question in the old poll, just start a new thread. Really though, there's no reason to bring the subject up again unless Clay or Ian reposts the question.

CD's, boxes, and shipping cost money. That's not really a reasonable expectation.

I didn't mind paying the extra to get the CD version mailed. It was totally worth it.

Boom, if you mean by that, people are using this topic to rack up the number of posts they have made (a pointless exercise, in my opinion), I suggest that posts on this topic are relevant at this time, when I imagine that many people are pondering how to buy, if at all, BM2008
I am surprised at how few votes "downloading" received. I think that a quick scan of these forums would convince yer average newbie, that they'd get a better deal, and fairer after-sales service directly from Sports Mogul than they would from any retailer.
I ,myself, downloaded the game for political reasons...as a Canadian, I bitterly resent the G.S.T. imposed on us docile Canucks by a previous Conservative government, and would sooner have my bucks put to better use by an American enterpreneur, than frittered away by some Canadian bureaucrat, even though, with the rate of exchange, it probably costs me more bucks to buy from a source in the U.S. rather than a store in my own country.
Other reasons to download : less environmental clutter, with boxes; jewl-cases; etc staying out of the landfill.
No piracy, since a download can't be sold; lent; or given.
