Some rich teams just plainly grab great players, even they already have some pretty good player in the same position.
I've seen Braves grab Hank Blalock and let Chipper Jones coming off bench (Isn't Chipper Jones now an LF?).
Some players have to come off bench although they can surely start for any other team in the league. Some even has to play in AAA.
Should the computers be more like real to trade this kind of players? Or don't go for something u don't need. For me, if I have Chipper Jones in 3B, I won't sign any other 3B to put Chipper in the bench.

this problem was in the game last year and obviously has not been adressed. I just dont get why they keep releasing games while ignoring the obvious gameplay problems

i really dont know if this is a bug, and just something they have ignored...i think it should be addressed. Sometimes computer games arnt perfect, and some bugs you just live with because you cant find the cause.

One reason why they keep on releasing games Baseballislife, is because they are a business who needs to make money...2k4 had no customers support, this year thou, we see a big difference with 2k5!!!

2k4 and football mogul were a joke, nice games, but so many bugs....they just didnt have the resources to make those game go from good to great in 2k4, and from crappy to average in fbm2k3.

The game for some reason likes to start younger players over the veterans. I had barry larkin and he hit .310 have way through the season and they wanted me to start felipe Lopez whos overall was 54 and peak was 84. Larking went on to hit .324 season was still getting benched by my computer for the playoffs

at SS, mogul seems to overvalue SS especially with defense....so maybe F.lopez was awesome at Defense.

Larkin was a little better in all areas except range. I didn't know it valued the defense so much. I will keep that in mind.

Do you think they overvalue SS because A-Rod was a shortstop and Renteria is good at Defense.

one major reason is the SS gets more stats then mostly any other fielder on the club. So if you have a player with a high range at SS, they would be better than a 2b with high Range....

same with CF, I believe they get majority of the stats in the OF.

Here is what I think and it is for all "stat" baseball games. They value defense so highly at SS is they don't want people putting someone like Manny Rameriez at SS. There has to be a great advantage for defense at SS or who would play Vizquel at SS over a big basher like Cecil Fielder or Manny. The defense has to out weigh the extra offense.

Does this make sense?

Except One time I made Adam Dunn a shortstop when i use to play as the reds (now on to Toronto) And he was a shortstop and i had no other IF or SS for the postion except him and larkin and they started Dunn over Larkin. I made Dunn the shortstop because larkin isn't very good offensively.

Well, the Yankees did trade for A-Rod, even though they were already paying $19 mil to a guy named Derek at that position. Unfortunately, our AI isn't yet sophisticated enough to force one of those guys to switch positions.

I agree with you -- it also bugs me when I see a star riding the pine because the computer team was dumb and signed two stars at the same position -- so it's something I'm trying to fix.

And also, some NL teams got very good hitters to mainly pinch hit, what a waste... A lot of these players can certainly start as DH for any AL team.

Could the new patch intricate the computer to do more salary dumps? Also trade in off-seasons. Now no computer try to trade in the off-season, that's not right...

Being on the bench in the national league is kind of the same one where a player plays on the bench or plays in the minors ON Computer Control teams.

I hope this gets fixed too. :)

is there any way to integrate the waiver system?
Let's say, if any player played at least 3 seasons in the majors, you have to clear waiver to send him to triple A.

Maybe that's too big a change. But I'd love to see waivers, arbitration, DL and contract negotiating...

Zhong,

I don't this game will have those features b/c Mogul is about speed and ease of play. If you boggle it down with all those options you will slow the game down a lot! You will have to search other games for those options (yes, they are a bit slower in sim speed).

Clay can correct me if I'm wrong.

Check it out. This really isn't true in real life. 2B get about the same number of chances that SS's get.
