I think that a contracts.ini file might be a good way to please people that have complained about salaries being too high.
It could be very similar to the awards.ini and rookies.ini already present. Like this:
//Contracts.ini
Pitcher, 90
Catcher, 105
1st Basemen, 105
...
Rookies 110
1 Year 110
2 Years 105
etc.
Maybe it could go so far as to include other factors such as the bearing of age, last seasons batting/fielding/pitching stats, current rating and peak potential into contract figures. But it doesnt have to.
Personally I feel the problem is that the top five or six players in the market ask for way too much money. I mean, as good as Eric Gagne is do you think he can ask for $20,900,000 over 5 years after the 2004 season and expect a GM to give it to him. Some people may think so, but I'm sure that many, including myself, wont.
What do you guys think?
