How to use a new player database

How in the world do I get these universe.dat files to work where the rosters are actually changed.

Go into the C drive, Program Files, Sports Mogul, Baseball 2005. From there you should see something called "universe". Just save the file over that and then when you open the game, instead of opening the 2004 rosters, go to the "Don't Load Stats" option for the rosters, and it will use the universe file.
