Hello all its me Smitty
Baseball Mogul 05 Dynasty: Chicago Cubs-2004
This is a universe file written by a friend that is pretty accurate and updated by me. So its 95 percent correct.
Baseball Mogul Version 7.09 with salaries calculated by the game and injuries cleared.
Awards .ini
Rookies. ini
Hof. ini
All set to 100 for each position
Difficulty: Mogul (try to be hard)
NO simulation mode (due to baseball isnt predictable so this shouldnt be either)
No equalize Cities (cites arent equal)
I play with the DH active in both leagues so there is no disadvantage to anyone.
All strategies are set in the middle.
Ticket prices for Wrigley $20.00 (just below league average)
Concessions all at 0%
Pay TV (WGN baby)
Expenses:
Farm System 5 Mill
Scouting 3 mill
Medical staff- 10 mill
My Goals:
1. I want to make money!
2. I want to win!
I will struggle the first few years due to lowering my budget and payroll.
I will give updates at beginning of season and all star break and end of season.
So I did all I could to lower my payroll but here is what I am at now and what transactions I made:
Expenses 112.9 Mill
Revenue 112.3 Mill
Cash 2.5 Mill
1. Sign Aramis Rameriz a salary 2.6 mill for 8 years
2. Cubs send: Ramon Martinez, Ricky Guiterezz, Bill Selby to White Sox for Ross Gload
3. Sign Ross Gload to 860,000 for 4 years

10. Cubs Sign Bill Haselman for 990,000 for 2 years
11. Cubs Send: Moises Alou(again), Todd Walker to Astros for Craig Biggio

17. Cubs Send: Craig Biggio, Tom Goodwin to Padres for David Wells
18. Cubs Sign Dave Matranga(2B) for 370,000 for 2 years
19. Cubs Sign Enrique Cruz(2B) for 370,000 for 2 years
20. Cubs Send: Kevin Brown, Benji Gil, Arron Taylor, Jimmy Rollins to Astros for Roger Clemens, Adam Everrett
21. Cubs Send: Roger Clemens, David Wells, Dave Matranga, Jason Giambi to Red Sox for David Ortiz
22. Cubs Sign Julio Manon(RP) for 660,000 for 2 years
23. Cubs Sign Jimmy Haynes for 1.5 mill for 1 year
24. Cubs Sign Ron Gant for 870,000 for 3 years
25. Cubs Sign Kevin Tolar(RP) 380,000 for 2 years
26. Cubs Sign Andy Pratt for 550,000 for 2 years
Almost all of these trades were salary dumps due to needing to make money
My Roster with salaries is attached
As you can see, no bullpen, good SP, macias is playing 2B and I am looking for R.Gload and D.Kelton to have good seasons.
Im guessing we will win 85-90 games (no playoffs)
I will at least try to break even ,so I might have to trade someone at the break.
Patterson better step it up and Fat Ortiz better hit 40 HR
I doubt Sosa will be around after next year unless hes awesome
Ill let you know what¡s going on at the All Star Break in 04
Thanks for wasting your time reading my dynasty.

Cubs let the following players become free agents
Jimmy Haynes (Thanks for a decent season, 2nd or 3rd best starter)
Kent Merker (you really sucked, I hope you retire)
They actually both retired!
Final 2004 thoughts
Sosa is going out the door! He’s on the downside and I can’t afford him at 12 million for next year( well actually 43 Hr is nice but average is down )
David Ortiz was Really Good
? marks Gload and Kelton were ok , man im glad I got oft injured Ron Gant
Zambrano was good and wood and prior were really disappointing
Bullpen was as expected but Cerros was a nice surprise along with Starter Q.Bowman(37 year old Rookie)
So I thought this team would win 85 games but I was wrong we will change some things and try to go 81-81 next season while still making dough
Thanks for reading
I changed my mind and I will give yearly updates instead of 2 times per year

!!!!! Ok so I made 3 pretty good size trades, I got rid of some salary(Restrepo) and some players that will want a lot of money next year(Matthews,Jackson,Elias,Bootin). I also had a lot of good young outfielders and 2 good 1B that I cannont fit into the lineup unless I get rid of Miguel Cabrera or Blalock and I am not ready to do that just yet. Mark Prior wants like 20 Mill for the next 6 years so he will most likely be traded at the deadline.
My AAA and bench Hitters are really young and very talented. All 90 peak or better. Peak is the key word though. Pitchers have talent but no AAA experience yet. I also will have a closer with no ML or AAA Experience.!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck to me.
