I have a rant regarding the AI. I'm just reading over my dynasty to see what I b*tched about. Mostly, I find that BBM has some shortfalls in emulating NL type strategy things.
Thing 1: I have never seen a pitcher bunt.
At least I havent seen one bunt successfully. But in situations where it would make sense for a pitcher to bunt, for example, a runner on first with less than 2 out. I have moved the slider up a bit and still not seen it happen...So if we can have pitchers bunt more often, it would be nice.
Thing 2: Stealing third/tagging second with 2 out is bad.
It happens. It shouldnt. I can understand that some players have mental lapses, but this sort of thing ought to be tuned down to a rarity. If a player is fast enough to steal third he's fast enough to score on a base hit. Unless its an infield single. Only Rickey Henderson and Tim Raines would do stuff like this. That golden era of base stealing is pretty much done.
Thing 3: Starting pitchers are pinch hit for in the 4th and 5th innings, even if they are pretty good pitchers pitching pretty good games
My pinch hit slider is low... and this happens. Ive had alot of starters pitch just 5 innings, throwing 80 pitches becuase they get pinch hit for. It always happens when the team is down in a close game. Sometimes its a risk but an understandable situation (bases loaded great PH)... other times its just plain dumb (2 out no one on). I dont watch alot of NL ball but I think that when this happens, you just try to draw a walk or hope for the best. When something like this happens to teams that play alot of close games it can really screw with your bullpen. This thing bothers me the most out of the four.
Thing 4 (Minor): When a pinch hitter stays in the game to pitch in a blowout situation, the pitcher that precedes him gets credited for those stats.
I dont really care enough about this to back it up. It happened once in a play by play. The game used to go through the minors of they ran out of major leaguers... as far as I can tell they just leave the pinch hitter in to pitch. I think that when this happens they are credited in the year by year stats... but since they arent credited in the box score I'm second guessing myself. In any case, it doesnt really matter.
I like that Im seeing more double plays than previous versions. And other parts of the pinch hit logic, like who to pinch hit, seems to be better.
Well, those are my AI rants. I also have some other things Id like to be seen add that might be possible with a patch. I would assume v7.10 would be the last (if there is one) as focus turns to getting football mogul out.
1. Team totals in the roster screen
It would be in the drop down menu. Its exactly as it sounds. I just think this would be way cool.
2. Runs Created and RC/27, maybe some other Jamesian stats you find useful in roster screen
3. Auto-sort team strategies
4. Errors in box scores.
I mean, who made them. Although this might cause me some health issues when I look at them.

Expanded box scores have been talked about also... this is something I'd like to see in Mogul 2006.
So those are things that would be neat to see. Keep up the good work.
