I'm proud to announce that MOGUL CHALLENGE 2004 is now open!

This is the fifth installment of Mogul Challenge, Sports Mogul's series of official competitions. We started in the summer of 2002, and now, a year since our last competition, we're launching what will be the most challenging competition of all!

The Challenge will be very similar to our past competition, Mogul Challenge 2: Bidding Frenzy.

We will begin with two leagues, each simulating at 60 games per day (sorry, folks; the slower speed would have prolonged the competition too long). The leagues will be shuffled via a fantasy draft, and the teams will be equalized. No big deal, right?

Wrong. The top 45 hitters and top 45 pitchers picked in the fantasy draft will become free agents, and each team will be able to place 10 closed bids for any player he or she wants.

Interesting? I think so. Difficult? Probably. But what makes this our most challenging competition of all?

Well, there's a catch. Remember how I said the league would be equalized? Well, it will -- but not exactly the way it normally is. Teams won't be equalized to an average market team; instead, teams will be equalized to be in line with Montreal and Tampa Bay. So, good luck with that budget of $40 million!

We have two leagues open; please join only one:

Mogul Challenge 2004 East
(which simulates 60/day, Eastern time)

and

Mogul Challenge 2004 West
(which simulates 60/day, Pacific time)

For more detailed rules and information, please read the Rules thread in this forum. More details on the bidding will be posted soon.
