View Full Version : Newbie looking for a temporary league
I'm 6'1" with dark hair, brown eyes, athletic build....oh wait, thats a different buleltin board.
Talked to Clay on AIM the other day and he said the "April 1st ratings drop" thing should be resolved with the new code so I was thinking hmmmm. Then I see a post by none other than the sharpest 15 year-old I've ever known (KapKap) about a new Mogul Challenge and the hmmmm turned into a hmmmmmmmmmm. Then I saw a post by the great James Baker (he of the 44 WS rings) and the hmmmmmmmmmm turned into a "lets do this."
So, assuming Tom is willing to let a nubee into the Mogul Challenge, I'll be in that league. In the meantime though, I want to get some practice with the new rosters. Anyone looking for a temp owner who will bail out as soon as the MC starts? I'd prefer an equalized league (and of course one with the new rosters).

And to think I had both these guys in my league. James turned a 35 win comp franchise into a 100 win powerhouse in 1 year. He stayed on for about 6-7 years before moving on. Oh well at least Kaplan is still hanging around;)
We should really try to get JB in the Challenge though.
yeah, having JB in the challenge would take away some of the sting of Deke's absence.

I wouldn't bet against Deke sneaking back in here for CML3 or the challenge Tommy is putting up.
Don't count out Seven or Stealth either;)
Stealth will prob be here, but Deke and Seven...I doubt it...Wanna bet 3rd round draft picks ;)?

Wanna bet 3rd round draft picks ?
Huh? There is a new league with draft picks? That league was fun.....hmmm.....
Unfortunately I am moving back to the States in early October and will likely be without regular internet access for several weeks while my household goods get shipped. I probably won't join any challenges until I get settled in (early Nov timeframe).

Hope to see you come back!

Probably. Kind of depends....I am hoping it is a 2 step challenge. Something like 60 teams for x seasons then cut down to top 30 for step 2. That would give me a chance not to be blitzed by people who know the new rosters really well. Figure I can probably finish in the top 15 in round 1.

First of all, it's ILC. Second of all I'm not the one doing the ABC's. All of my posts are purely informational.
U.S. Secretaries of State and Top 10 movies of the 1990's is great reading material, and surely not as classless as post padding.

tournament style!
a lot like the original mogul challenge a couple years ago
but if i remember correctly, that was a 3 step challenge.
3 leagues of 30 play for 5 seasons
top 20 in each advance
then the 60 who make the cut are divided into 2 leagues
the top 15 in each advance
and for the final 30 in the last league
and the champ is the champ
im down for that!
