version 7.07 of the game
So...I just got this game, and it's fun and all, but I seem to have a big technical issue.
Started in 1900, and in the first minor league draft about half the players had wacked-out stats that have seriously screwed the game. Too many of these rookies have ratings of 95+ in power, speed, control, etc. that the resulting statistics for the season are a little suspicious.
For example:
League leader in ERA: 9.16
3 players had over 1000 intentional walks
7 players with on-base % of over .900
several batted over .800
only 5 shutouts the entire season for all teams combined
slugging percentages of over 2.000
some players with 800 rbis, 800 runs, and 1000 total bases
home run leader hit 63 (previous year's leader was 12)
some with 250+ doubles
most games scored 23-18 or so, some would go over 35
Anyway, obviously the players have some issues. Anything I can do about this, or just wait for a patch? If I play in a more modern era where it doesn't have to generate so many random players, would that help? Unofficial patch, maybe? I don't know anything about this kind of stuff, and noone else seems to have had this problem...
