I don't know exactly how to do this, but maybe at least team, maybe players should have a rivalry rating. Example: I was the Red Sox and the Yankees were about 12 games out when they offered me Mariano Rivera for Brian Daubach and some prospects. Obviously, this should not happen. Maybe if the teams had this rating, they would not be inclined to offer anything to those teams. As far as the players having this rating, this could come in handy when they play a rivalry team. Maybe their rating could jump (or go down) as much as 5 or 10 points. So you could have players "choke" in big games and other players "step up" this would have a BIG impact on players you start, or free agents to pick up for me.

I like the idea of having a rivalry rating. However, rather than having an impact on trades, it should only have an impact on attendance and TV revenue. As far as trades go, the AI should be more cautious about making trades with ANY team in their division.

I like that idea too. Just be cautions on trades in your own division would work for me too.

I love this idea cartman. I think this would be great but you have to remember statistically clutch doesnt exist. I think that if you play a rival, you should boast attendance and TV renenue.

Also I would love to see a star rating too, "fan Favorite" Because for example, in the 90's The Seattle Mariners lead the American League for a few years in Road Attendance because of Ken Griffey Junior. I could be mistaken thou. So if you get a player that is special player like on your team or on your opposing team, YOu attendance would go up. Just an idea!!!

star players which boost attendance would be great. like if a player is chasing the HR record the expos would get a boost in attendance when he comes to town or any other team for that matter. I had a guy hit his 74th HR of the year playing the expos and only 6000 people were there to witness it.

it would also be a good addition because these players could be guys who could save or sink franchises.
