jim duquette is a dumb *****.
i'm sorry, but that's the only way to see his 'moves'
people gave him the benefit of the doubt when he signed the over-hyped kaz matsui, even though he had a younger, better, player at the same position in jose reyes.
now, he trades:
scott kazmir, the system's best pitching prospect, and TINSTAAPP aside, a future no. 1 starter.
matt peterson, another strong prospect, albeit one who has some more question marks with him.
jose diaz, fireballing closer (although way too early to judge)
justin huber, who although they'r questions about his defense, he's a great hitting catching prospect; and
ty wigginton, who's just a place-holer for David Wright
for:
kris benson, who's a failed no. 1 draft pick whose upside is a league average pitcher. oh yeah, he's also grossly overpaid and has an injury history (in his defense though, his wife is pretty hot: www.annabenson.net); and
victor zambrano, who's a wild league average pitcher. i suppose rick peterson is a miracle worker, but still...
and the stupidest thing: the mets didnt have a chance BEFORE they mortgaged their future. I saw somewhere that duquette hates fred wilpon and wanted to sabotage the team before he's fired. i hope that's true. when you make chuck lamarr look skilled, you have NO place in professional baseball.
