I'm proud to announce that MOGUL CHALLENGE 2004 is now open!

This is the fifth installment of Mogul Challenge, Sports Mogul's series of official competitions. We started in the summer of 2002, and now, a year since our last competition, we're launching what will be the most challenging competition of all!

The Challenge will be very similar to our past competition, Mogul Challenge 2: Bidding Frenzy.

We will begin with two leagues. The leagues have been shuffled via a fantasy draft, and the teams are equalized. No big deal, right?

Wrong. The top 50 hitters and top 50 pitchers picked in the fantasy draft will become free agents, and each team will be able to place 10 closed bids for any player he or she wants.

Interesting? I think so. Difficult? Probably. But what makes this our most challenging competition of all?

Well, there's a catch. Remember how I said the league would be equalized? Well, it will -- but not exactly the way it normally is. Teams won't be equalized to an average market team; instead, teams will be equalized to be in line with Montreal and Tampa Bay. So, good luck with that budget of $40 million!

(You will receive some free drops and all cash will be somewhat equalized as well; also, please note that the two leagues are exactly alike, except for the different time zones)

Round 1 will run for 5 years. The top 15 GM's (by Mogul pts) in each league will advance to the Finals, which will run for 10 years.

We have two leagues open; please join only one:

Mogul Challenge 2004 East
(which simulates 40/day, Eastern time)

and

Mogul Challenge 2004 West
(which simulates 40/day, Pacific time)

For both leagues, the password is mogul

Be sure to look exactly for these league names because there are a few active leagues with variations of Mogul Challenge in their names. These are just knockoffs, and have no affiliation with Sports Mogul.

(note: in the event that the 40/day speed is not active in time for the beginning of the Challenge, we will use 30/day until it is ready)

For more detailed rules and information, please read the Rules thread in this forum. More details on the bidding will be posted soon

Lets keep this thing bopping along. Join the Mogul Challenge West as there are more people in that one and closest to starting.
