Fixes since Version 7.11 (http://forum.sportsmogul.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=56929):

(Note: Version 7.12 and 7.13 were skipped -- they were used as internal versions for upgrading Baseball Mogul Online)

1. Roster screen: 'UPSIDE' fixed (previously all values were '50').
2. Roster screen: 'Disabled Days' fixed, and renamed to 'Injured Days'.
3. Starting pitchers added to Game Recap Play-By-Play.
4. Bug fixed where great fielders were being shown with mediocre range (e.g. 70-80).
5. Bug fixed: Free-agents-to-be were asking for too much money from teams with a lot of cash (on high difficulty levels).

Is there any way to get it to where we can edit the rookies available in the draft? In the league I run, I put in oldtimer rookies to draft. It would great to be able to change the names and stats to allow us to use the draft feature. Otherwise, we can't use the 2005 game.

also, i since you have addressed this in BBMO, i would like to see $$$ in the thousands instead of millions!

Not ideal but it is possible to edit players once they are drafted.

I agree that it would be nice to be able to edit the players pre-draft.

Alright, I'm not computer smart and never will claim to be. But sometimes when I download this, I get it on my desktop, go to extract files, and it says there are no files to extract. Then I double click on it and it says file is invalid or corrupt. Can anyone help me?

I've tried more than 5 times every day so far and still the same result. Is there something wrong with my computer?

you have to overrite the program in your baseball 2005 folder. You can not play the patch without the files. If you replace the bb2k5 on your desktop, you are not replacing the game. THe icon on your desktop is just simply a shortcut.

So after you extract this patch, put it in the

program files\sportsmogul\ baseball 2005\ and put this new patch anywhere on the page except for right on top of the old bb2k5 logo.

I hope you understand....if you have AIM, i can help you out better,

ahh, but the problem lies in the extracting part. I try to extract all and it says, "there are no files to extract. So then I double click it and it tells me the file is invalid or corrupted.

Do I have to extract all within the bbm2k5 folder?

extract it to your desktop.

Clay...just a heads up....after completion of the minor league draft it still says "play until minor league draft"...when you click that it does progress to spring training so it's not a HUGE deal...but just letting you know...

lets say you take Brett Boone,

he is a 2b in the game, but if I play him at 1st base, untill the game switches his position, there will be no year by year fielding stats for him....all the stats go to Career.

unless he goes back to 2b.

this is a bug that has been around for years....but nobody has reported it.

I don't know if you already knew this but you can manually change the player's position. Go to the player's scouting/stats screen and click on the position, then you can change the position and see the approximate results in regards to fielding... or you could always edit the player. But you're right, it is a bug and probably a complicated one to fix.

you can, but then if you put them back into their orginal position their ratings drop even more!

Wow, thanks. It;s always been such a chore to leave the guy in a position for two years, either no autosort or manually putting him back each time, til he completed the change. I have got to try this, it's so much easier.

I thought this was fixed in a previous patch.

At the Rookie Draft, every year, 20 of my top 25 or so and mostly 40 of the top 50, you get the idea...

Are all pitchers.

And it doesn't matter if I sort them by Peak, or Overall rating. It's great to get a good young pitching staff... but... ridiculous that every year there are 10 players in the first 50 that are actually able to play a position... which brings me to my next point.

Of those 10, only 1 of them, if lucky, is a 2B or SS. and it's an act of god if that 2B or SS has a "FIELDING" Rating over 65. Sometimes their Peak is high, around 85 I even saw one with a peak of 94. However his fielding rating never rose above a 68. In fact in all of the seasons I have only seen 2 that I can recall who had a fielding rating get above a 75. There are some very good fielding SS's in the minors... where are they?

Have you edited rookies.ini yet? If not, go to where Mogul is installed, and find a "rookies.ini." Open it in Notepad, and edit it like it says. Just lower the talent level of pitchers and raise whichever positions you want more of.

Are you sure this patch addressed the salary issues?

Even with patch 7.14, it seems that salary demands are unreal when "stars" are compared to "reserves".

An example- during a free agent signing, my "ace pitcher"- a guy who had just racked up a 29-3 record with a sub 2.00 ERA (ah, the wonders of the player editor) asked for a measly $300,000 for seven years (previous salary was $3,000,000)- while another pitcher- the twenty-fifth man on the roster for my money- was asking $25,000,000 for seven years!

I find this phenomenon happens with reserve position players as well- and it's a real pain in the rear, because I seem to find myself releasing most of my reserves because of stratospheric salary demands, just to resign them as free agents at more realistic salary levels.

Is there some adjustment I can make to make this better?

BTW- I have been buying this product since 2002, and I must say that the 2005 version, which I awaited eagerly, is an UTTER DISAPPOINTMENT. If whoever coded it spent more time on strategy and quality of game play, and less time on that useless minor league draft (I always skip it), all these patches might not have been necessary. Compared to the previous versions, this one plays like "ca-ca".

My rant ends here, and to show I'm not hiding behind anonymity, my name and e-mail are:

I have been playing Mogul for a while, and have never seen this. You seem to be exaggerating!:(

Seriously, my salary problems are usually just stars asking for superstar money, and bench players asking for way too much when they're pretty much available for 300k elsewhere. I've never heard of it reversing like that.

I've seen it as well, never had reserves wanting 25 million. But I've had my fifth starter demand around that for a good year, not Cy Young year or anything but a nice solid year. Then when I put myself into the game as a 2B with Pujols like skills I only demanded a million or less to stay with my team as a FA. More common for me is players demanding 8-15 million more as a player to be a FA then they will as a FA, even with a high mid-market team that is having some money troubles. Its just really annoying to have to release players that you can easily afford. Player A--I want 25 million for 7 years. Owner--Nope not going to happen Player A as a FA--I'll settle for 13 million for 7 years.

Do I have to extract all within the bbm2k5 folder?

I have parental control software running (Cybersitter) which interferes with many downloads thathave no objectionable material. Might want to turn off any similar program if you have it, or even temporarily disable virus protection.
