we are all waiting on the next BBM revolution.
These things are MUST in 2k6:
*All-time leaderboard.
*expanision draft
*import rookies from the Lahman database"when you play a historical year"
* the trading block idea borrowed from BBMO
*new interface, making the game look different, the lineup screens and pitching screens basically look the same since my oldest version BBM 2000 i own.
* dont add features in patches anymore....like the league revenue, salary sliders. Because if you take the last patch of bbm2k4, and compare it to the first patch of bbm2k5, some of the features that were advertized were in the last patch of 2k4....like the dollars instead of points....for example...
*advertize the game, get it in stores......on the internet like Gamestop.com
*only focus on one Mogul, after this version of football mogul, only focus on Baseball Mogul......untill you get the game looking like a finished product!
there are just some of the things I would like to see, as a company, and how the game will turn out to be.:) I know how hard clay works, but bb2k6 needs to be revolutionary.

I would think that parts of the finances could be improved.Something like sales merchandise, so ,aybe if you were to sign a big name player he would sell A LOT of jerseys, and you would be raking in the cash.
The tickets and concessions need to be added upon so there are more diverse ways to make money.
Maybe stadim naming rights could be involved.
Maybe luxury tickets or ticket plans could be made (dont know how though)
And back to the point of a big name player, maybe it could be made that if you signed a big name player you would sell A LOT of seats.
{
FYI, i only have played the 2k5 demo, i dont really feel like buying 2k5. I still play 2k4 and 2k3 whenever I feel like. After playing the 2k5 Demo, i didnt feel like buying the new game

FWIW I've just recently merged all of my Mogul league's stats with the rest of baseball history.
We started with the 2000 season so I combined all of the stats from pre-2000 ( real life ) with the Mogul stats from 2000-2022.

this is very nice, I like what you have done, hopefully All-time leaderboard stats will be included in 2k6

I definately would want to see a All Time leader board. That would be huge for me. I would also like to see more historical achievements listed in the players awards page like passed Hank Aaron for #1 all time in homers on such and such date. Baseball unlike alot of the other sports has a very rich history, that is what makes the game great and to basically ignore that part of it makes the game seem a little less.
Since the HoF can only hold a set number of players before it starts to delete them I would like to see a option to be able to either save these players to some other place on the hard drive. When you play the game for 100's of years (I believe I played something like 500-1000 seasons in a row on 2003) its nice to be able to pull up a player you remember being great at certain times.
A all time leader list though would help fix that probelm, since hopefully anyone that is on the list could have their stat page pulled.
Also for the HoF I would like it to be restored to what it was previously in the 2003 version when it told you how many awards and Series they were part of or won right at the top of the page, in fact I would like that in addition to the way its set up in 2005. Just so much cleaner to be able to look at the page and say this guys won 6 MVP's and been part of 10 World Championship teams (had a reliever that was part of 21 WC teams in 23 years quite proud of him barely made the hall too)
Something else that I think would be interesting is to allow the user to pick the MVP, or have a more expanded vote listing. like show the top five for each major award.
Another thing that I feel needs to be looked into is the draft, I like the draft, but since I play for multiple teams it can be a major pain. Instead of automatically switching teams you have to manually do this for each pick other wise the active team will get that draft pick on top of their own. Same with trade offers. Theres no point in having the computer offer them since when they are offered you can't accept any of them. Click on the link and it does nothing.

I would like more play by play control. I think it would be cool to be the manager and have your decisions affect the game. Show how many mvp, cy young or all star votes a player gets. Also the hall of fame standards should be higher. I had a guy make the hall while only playing about 10 average seasons. Contract extensions and more contract options would be good.

The problem I have with play by play control is that this isn't a manager similuator, but rather a GM/Owner one. I wouldn't mind the options to hire/fire the manager though. Set it up similar to the players with his win/loss record and what not.
Being able to have contract negociations would be good to. Right now this game is set up completely in the players favor. This is what I want, give it to me or I walk. Ownership should have their say too.

I think for the next version, it would be nice to include some of the actual MLB rules associated with roster managment, disabled lists, free agency, designations, waivers, and trades.
Examples:
1. Establish a 25-man major league roster and a team 40-man roster.
2. 15/60-day disabled lists.
3. Rule 5 draft picks for players not on 40 day roster after 3 years on a team.
4. Define "options" so players can only be moved from 40 to 25-man roster 3 times in their career without going through waivers.
5. Which leads to esablishing a waiver wire so teams can claim players forced to go through waivers before being designated or released or traded after the trade deadline.
6. Veteran players with 5 years on the 25-mean roster cannot be sent to minors without permission and players with 10 years in the majors and 5 on the same team cannot be traded without permission.
Just some suggestions on how to make the came more realistic.

One other idea I forgot to include in the last post:
Free-agency compensation for type A/B free agents. When a team signs a free agent, they lose a draft pick and the team losing the free agent gets it.

Definately want to see something in place that keeps teams from having 10 million dollar a year minor leaguers.

Yea, the big feature I want to see is the ability to import real rookies...
A feature that's been in OOTP for a long time.

Expansion of the major league roster for Septermber call-ups would be a nice/easy feature to add.

I would also like a feature that would allow the user to lock in a starting lineup so auto sort could be used for filling in injuries or what not. I'm not for sure if allowing the computer automaticall fill for injuries would cause the lineup to be sorted with what the computer thought was the best team or not, and there are plenty of times when I disagree with who they want to run out there in place of my veterans or young unestablished rookies.

I definately agree that a more realistic roster should be implemented, ala the 25-40 man roster. The additional revenues are a good idea as well. Also, there should be draft compensations for departing FA, as IRL. It would be nice if there were more options for trades, i.e. gaining team only taking a percentage of the players salary. This would probably be a pain for AI, but it would really benefit MP games. Is it just me, or does the game generate a rediculous amount of infield hits?
Oh, and also, the ability to structure contracts so the dollar amounts aren't equal through all the years. Performance clauses and no trades would be interesting.

There are 3 top features in our current poll at http://forum.sportsmogul.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=55470
If you want to see more features bubble up to the top of the list, you'll have to organize a "voting campaign". :)

FYI, we got the first 6 items from the poll list added (although the minor league system is somewhat limited).
And we added "Player Morale, Happiness, Hot Streaks etc." and "Drag and Drop" plus a few other things.

1) expansion draft for new teams... if not this then a button to "fill" the roster kinda like OOTP has where we at least can stock our team with FA and through trades BEFORE getting all these unknown named randomly generated players in our system
2) The roster expansion come september would also be very cool
3) Managers... hire/fire and have them factor in to affect a team and the player moods etc for the chemistry.

there is no fill roster like in ootp.

Boom I know but the problem is it is there automatically when you create a team... I'd rather be able to sign and trade to build the team than have automatically a team full of nobodies randomly created.....I'd rather have a button added to just fill in the holes AFTER I trade and sign FA.... since there's no expansion draft from what I've read and gathered for 2k6

03-09-2005, 05:44 PM
oh...i am talking about historical expansion that will be included in the game...
Like if you start in 1992...on january 1993....the florida and colorado will be added...and there will be an CPU expansion draft...now if you add a team thru the league editor...currently it will do what each other version has done....

Boom I saw the historical one which is cool but it is the other one I was referring to.... hence why I figured just ammending it with a button would be the easiest as opposed to having to do all that to add in a new team expansion draft ....at least this way it would for the start eliminate a lot of the generic players flooding the league and provide a more realistic feel to adding in your own team.
boomboom
03-09-2005, 05:50 PM
if you add a team lets say in 1960 in 2k6...and you have historical rookies in the draft...each year you can draft historical rookies..not rookies will be placed on your team like in ootp...they all go into the draft.

Boom that is cool and love that new feature... but was meaning more of adding a new team into 2005 like bringing the Expos back but leaving the nationals in still...wouldn't work that way for them but...

FYI, didn't have the time to make a one-click 2005 Expansion Team for the launch of BB2K6.
But it's at the top of my list.

Clay thanks and that is cool.... no matter what anyone says you rock!!
I just know a lot of people have said the same thing about the generic players all filling the team you make and put in before you ever get a chance to trade and sign... would make a world of difference I think. Would be cool even as a patch later to see added, if not even just in the next version.
Looking forward to 2k6!!
