First point of Need is to actually do better then the team is doing now. Unlike the real GM we need to get younger in age and get rid of the old relics of the 116 win season.

MY GOALS FOR THE YEAR

Above .500
Bring Youth moment in
Be a contender bye 2006

First up as my first day as Gm of Seattle is to get younger

Trades Brett Boone, Dan Wilson, Hiram Bocachia, Pat Boarders, and lastly Shiggy Hasegawa

TO Milwaukiee for

Prince Fielder, Keith Ginter and Garry Bennet

With this trade i get rid of Boone's Huge contract of 8M
Moved the aged Dan Wilson, Bocachia cant do much for the furture and Pat Boarders is worthless at 41. Shiggys contract is to high to his actual ability now and at the age of 35 he will be done soon, especially with Seattle great young talent.

In Feilder i pick up my future 1st basebman, a reliable 2b in Ginter and a good backup with a younger age in Bennet. I also send 2 M to Milwaukiee.

Next on the schedule is more trading.

Trades Rual Ibanez, Randy Winn, Ron Villone, Bobby Madritsch,Justin Leone, Aaron Looper,George Sherill, Jobert Caberea and 6million in cash

To Los Angeles
Edwin Jackson, Milton Bradley, and Jayson Werth

With this trade i get a future #1 starter in Jackson. Dependable Milton Bradley who will switch to CF and a good Prospect in Jayson worth whom ill move to lf to replace Ibanez. Ibanez is a good player yes, but he wont put up the same numbers he did in Kansas City. Randy Winn is also a good player but i feel its a good exchange for a good arm. Losing Villone wont hurt, he wasnt really that good to begin with and the minor leaguers are just that minor leaguer. With the exception of Caberea which was a good bench man, that will definately hurt.

Now at this point i see that my bench is in need of some definate experience, so i sign Rey Ordonez to a one year contract.

Now ive dropped my season tickets to 33 dollars a game instead of 38.75
Ive resined Bradley to a 7yr 6.8 million contract. Everyone else is fine at the moment.
My contract total is now around 56million dollars, good for 26th in the league.
projected revenue is now around 82 million dollars. Lots of chances next year for free agents.

Now here is my lineup
Rf Ichiro
2b Ginter
Cf Bradley
DH Martinez
1B Spiezio
C Olivio
Lf Werth
3B Bloomquist
SS Santiago

Bench
Jamal Strong
Rey Ordonez
Luis Ugueto
Gary Bennet
Bucky Jacobson

Pitching Starter
McDermott
Pineiro
Moyer
Meche
Jackson

Relievers
Guardado, Cp
Meteo, SU
Franklin, Short
Sorioano, middle
Hernadez, Long
Puntz, alternative

Not much power in my line-up and unfortuently my pichers are not going to win many games for me. Rookies in Mcdermott, Jackson and Hernadez with make this a long year.

Waiting in the wings
Feilder
Knish
Adam Jones
Sneiling (Go australia)
Reed...maybe
Blackley...already on the big team this year

Will defenately need some pitching prospects next year.

Let the game begin!

Good job Cardinals.

Outlook on season:
It was a dissapointment i didnt win more games then shown. I was very happy with my rookie pitching although McDermott only one game after the allstar break. My bullpen on the other hand was horrible with the exception of Puntz and Hernadez, too many losses between Mateo and Franklin.
My hitting surprised me a bit, with a booyeah going out to Olivo who surprised me and moved to the 5th sport in mid year. Spiezio was a dissapointment as was werth. Edgar however surprised even me in his old age, however i dont expect him to put up those number next year.
NOW ON TO NEXT YEAR!

Okay so its season two. Hopefully we can get a bit better this year.

First off I resign Edgar for a 1 year 6m contract, a bit inflated given his age but I respect the man and feel he should die a mariner. I also resign Bennett to 5years 1.6 mil. He had a good year at the plate.

I then release Ordonez, did alright for me but there are futures waiting in the wings

Now I currently have 45M in the bank at this moment, dont want to have my salaries sky rocket but i do want to compete this year.

I decide to Trade Spiezio and Bloomquist for my future right feilder in Delmon Young, he is of course with Tampa Bay.

This clears space for my signee of the season Adrian Beltre whom will be my starting 3rd baseman. High price though 7years 11.3 million. I decide to relocate Knish to 2b for the future becuase of Beltre. His numbers go down but still in the 90's

Prince Fielder had an awsome year in AAA however he needs one more season to grow so i sign Shawn Wooten who had a good year at the plate of .313. If he falters then Fielder would come up midseason.

I then decide to put Mateo and Franklin on the trade block, as they had horrible years in the pen. My first answer is Bobby Crosby, what a surprise. 92 overall with the peak just the same.
I couldnt pass this up even with Adam Jones in the minors, when jones is ready he will take over for Crosby, Jones is still pretty young.

With Franklin and Meteo gone i need bullpen help, so I look at the current free agents and find Scott Williamson and Billy Wagner. Wagner is huge addition and proven closer, and becuase of Guardado crappy year it was however a smart move. Williamson will take over Meteos set up role. Williamson 5years 4.1m and Wagner 4 years 8.3mil.

I then decide to get rid of Meche and his horrible season of 17 loses. I get 5million of cash and send him to baltimore.

I have the 5th pick in the upcoming draft.
1. Elvis Bletnitsky P 73ov 87pk
2. Jaun Moraga P 70ov 77pk
3. Wesley Harris P 71ov 77pk
4. Vern Murray 2b 63ov 77pk

The Rest dosent matter but i feel drafting 3 pitchers says that i need picture help. Jamie Moyer will be done after this season and Bletnitsky will do well in taking over for him. Moraga and Harris could help out in the bullpen and Murry will be a good bench player.

Line-up

Prospects

My starting rotation is pretty young with the call up of Blackley, we wil have to see how things go. With my batting Im a bit scared with Martinez, hes pretty old and I dont think he can produce, look for Fielder or Knish to come in and play DH if Edgar cant cut it. Now that i look at this team i dont think ill hit 500, but we will see however good luck to Seattle.
Let the season Begin!

End of the season feeling was good, although I may have lost in the first round it was a huge step in the right direction. My bullpen didnt pan out again with the exception of Wagner. Williamson had a horrible year as did the rest of the boys. Young Pitcher McDermott needs to gain stamina and finish ball games. His 10 wins isnt good enough to be a number one starter. Blackley was a huge surprise getting rookie of the year honors while leading the team with 18 wins, he did falter a bit down the stretch however as a rookie that is expected. Blackley is definately my team MVP.

Hitting on the other had was not that good. Beltran did hit for power but was way under his expected batting average. Ginter Stuggled compaired to last year and Olivo faltered down the stretch. Bradley didnt hit for much average as well, but kept close to his power numbers of the previous year. A late call up from Snelling will edge im a spot in the starting lineup next year. Gone will be agless Edgar Martinez and Jamie Moyer. Edgar had a steller year compaired to his age hitting 25 home runs. Expect to see Fielder and Knish called up next year to take the places of Martinez and putting Wooten to the bench. Also expect to see a new starter in place or Moyer. Now on to the next season and the hope of getting deaper into the playoffs..See you all next year.

Okay its the start of year 3 here in Seattle first up for business is contract signing.

Released Edgar Martinez and he decided to retire, his contract was too much for his age. Also released was Jamie Moyer, he subsiquently retires as well. Other then those two all other players have contracts.

Now time to check out the Free agent market. At first glace it seems as if the Oakland A's have done a bit of cleaning house. Both Tim Hudson and Barry Zito are there for the taking. I decide that Barry Zito will be the man who sends me over the top this year. I sign him for 7 years and 9.1 M. Pretty cheap considering, however he did have an off year. Next up is a proven hitter to replace Edgar. I need someone who can hit for average as well as power. I sight Sean Casey, not his previous year he was awsome at the plate and gobble him up. Becuase of Fielder waiting in the wings I decide to only sign him for 3 year at a steap price of 10M. That will be all of my free agent signing as i have added 19.1 million to my payroll.

Now on to the draft. I have the 23 Pick here, not expecting much really. Fortuently for me I have a young base ready to play and feel i dont need a whole lot.

Saru Tsukaka P 70ov 84pk
Perry Stuchinsky P 68ov 84pk
Nicholas Burke Lf 66ov 79pk
Nicholas Dodd C 63ov 75pk

The rest dosent matter. With this draft i drafted young with nobody over the age of 20. Both Tsukada and Stuchinsky could become reliable starters and Burke could become reliable with Snelling dosent pan out. Dodd could be a good back up catcher in the future.

First order of business after the draft is call ups. Both Fielder and Knish are called up. Fielder taking over DH for the departed Martinez and Knish taking over second base.
My line up as follows

RF Ichiro
2B Knish
1B Casey
3B Beltre
C Olivo
CF Bradley
DH Fielder
SS Crosbey
LF Snelling

Bench
Jacobson
Strong
Ginter
Santiago
Bennett

Starting Rotation
McDermott
Zito
Blackley
Pineiro
Jackson

Relivers
CP Wagner
SU Williamson
SH Guardado
MID Soriano
LG Hernandez
Alt Bletnitsky

Prospects
Young (RF)
Harris (p)
Jones (SS)
Burke (2B)
Murray (3B)

This season looks to be great i think, with great hope in the starting Rotation. I didnt do much with the Bullpen as I think the growing pains of Soriano and Hernandez will come to an end. Bletintsky was ready for the starting job but with the Zito being signed hes be delegated to the bullpen till him time comes. My hitting looks to be good here. Fielder looks to be ready as does Knish, they are young but i believe they will d well. The Addition of Casey should allow for a more powerful lineup. Hopefully Snelling will do well, but in the 9th spot i dont expect for him to do much. Now on to the season.

April 19 wins 4 loses

Quit a surprise given the Rangers were about 15 games behind me and only won 88 games in the season. A dissapointment none the less but again a step in the right direction. I did make it to one more round of the playoffs which is a positive none the less. Here are my stats for the year.

Prospects of note
Young .289 25 HR 117 RBI
Jones .327 8 HR 99 RBI
Murray .295 1 HR 38 RBI

I was very happy with the results of the bullpen. They kept the ERA down in the low combined 4.00. As a team we had a 3.69 ERA. Jackson was a bit of a concern especially with the hope of his growth. Pineiro did awsome although he faultered in the late month and couldnt reach the 20 win game mark. Zito won games but not enough to put us over the top, he will have to do better next year. My hitting was just alright. Fielder didnt hit as many home runs as I would have liked but he still produced a bit. Snelling did well in the 9 hole almost having as many rbi's as Fielder. Bradley and Crosby slumped this year and Olivo hasnt grown with his batting average. This will be a big year for contracts as many come up this year. Look to see a different bench, one with less production probably. First to go will be Ginter, and possibly Wooten. My Starting lineup will remain in tact. On to next year and hopefully a chance at the world series.

Okay start of the new season, season four in Mariners camp.
First thing off is the signing and releasing of players.

I release Ginter he wanted 6.8M and 6 years, too much for a player sitting on the bench behind Knish. I also release Wooten, not much need for him and his 2.3 m request for 4 years, at his age too much and with Fielder playing now, move in some more younger players. I also decide to say bye bye to Guardado, his heafty contract at 4.3 m 3 y and heafty ERA make this a good release.

In the way of signing I decided to put some money out and resign Pineiro to a 13.5 m 7 year contract. Hes been playing pretty well for me and hes good in my rotation.

Now on to the free agent market where there is abosultely nothing to choose from, so i pass up on everyone.

Draft day:
#1 Quentin Appleberry CF 65ov 94pk only 20 years old
#2 Tito Galindo 3B 62ov 87pk 22 years old
#3 Dave Leising LF 61ov 82pk 21 years old
#4 Isnand Cordell P 57ov 73pk 20 years old

The rest dont really matter getting to be pretty slim pickings at this draft number.

I then feel that I need to dump a bit of salary as I was not happy with Zito and my patience on Olivo is wearing thin.

Trades Brarry Zito, Miguel Olivo, Milton Bradley and Jason Werth to Kansas City for 3# draft pick Zack Armstrong, 24 year old catcher Justin Huber and Center fielder Chad Bonham.

This is a huge trade in a sense of Zito. Olivo wasnt improving much and Bradleys huge contract and bad numbers were dissapointing. I get a pitcher who can start now ant 19 years old, a catcher with heaps of improvement and a Center fielder that will help in the bench maybe in the starting line-up.

Next order of business is to call up Shin-soo Cho to replaced the injured Snelling. Snelling got injured during the playoffs. Choo needs to produce hes been hiding out in the minors for a bit too long. He does have speed and that is something i love. I also call up pitcher Jaun Moraga to replace guardado in the "short" reliever position.

Nothing else is of need now so i think im set with my line up. One big surprise however with Strong moving into the number 1 spot ahead of Bonhan.

Line up
CF Strong
RF Ichiro
2b Knish
3B Beltre
DH Casey

Starting 5
McDermott

I feel i have a strong lineup with lots of power and good average. The only question marks i have is Strong in Center and the rookie in the 5th spot. Moraga should do better then Guardado for sure and the bullpen is seasoned. I look for Wagner to have a standout year.

Let the games begin!

Season Thoughts
I went further again in the playoffs this time by getting to the world series only to loose to the cubs 4 games to 3. The season look pretty bleek up to the All star game but then turned it on in August. Great performances by Fielder and Strong. Knish winning the MVP was a bit of a surprise but i think his stolen bases contributed quite a bit to those votes. My rookie Armstrong stood in strong in the number 5 spot. Good wins coming from a rookie, the Era isnt so bad either considering. My bullpen was a disapointment yet again, everyone except Wagner and Moraga. Ichiro had his worst batting average in his career and there has been a steady decline in stolen base output. Casey also had a down year compaired to his season last year. Way down in homeruns and Rbi. Ive progressed year after year and next year if things fall into place i should win the whole thing. So with that its time to move onto the next year.

Okay start of season 5 here in Seattle. Last year was no so much a disappointment as it was a good experience for my team.
First set of business for the new year is contract signing.

Resign Ichiro to a 8.6 M 5 year deal.
Release Santiago he wanted 2.5 for 6 years and I have a younger Ugueto on the bench
I also release Soriano who hasnt played well in consecutive years. He wanted 4 M for 5 years.

Now on to free agents. There really isnt much out there in terms on player that can make a huge impact. However Barry Bonds in there and is still a fair bit of a way from the career home run record, so i decide to give my city a little something extra to go crazy about, i sign Bonds.

I then decide that Crosby to make room for Jones. Crosby to S.F. for reliever Jaun Caccia. Crosby just hasnt progressed much and Jones is ready now.

Ive also decided since im moving Bonds into the starting lineup then it was time to move someone else. Casey who isnt playing up to his salary needs to go. i trade him to Arizona for 5 mil in cash, dumping his 10 m contract.
