Hello all..... please do not think I am here trying to copy Scorey..... for all of you who don't play BBMO me and Scorey know each other from the online game and had asked me once if I wanted to do a dynasty also and we can compare our teams.... I had told him no that I didn't have enough time, but I decided I am going too. I hope to issue out 1 season per day, some other days I may do more. I will tell you how I do on a monthly basis.... and chances are I wont get to write about the entire season in one same batch. I did things a bit differently though. Knowing that sometimes players don't want to play for a certain team..... I made sure to get a dice, if my dice rolls a 1,2 or a 3 the player wants to sign with me if a 4 5 or 6 comes up they want to go to another team. More to come :-D

First of all I want to get through on my trades I made before the season.... If you don't see Sammy or Prior or Wood anywhere it is because I did a Shuffle Players Option..... gives a brand new start to everyone..... and then the Cubs would already have one of the best staff's in baseball.... I want to develop the best staff in baseball not start with it.

Trade #1: The trade for the man I love the most in BBM2K5
Cubs Trade
Javier Vasquez
Shea Hillenbrand

Trade #3
Cubs trade:

Jimmy Rollins ( Had horrible contact and power and has worse D than the SS you will see I received, plus Guzman has better contact.

Omar Infante
Wes Helms
Jose Cruz Jr (a big salary reduction who made over 4.9 million)

Good luck with the Kimster ;)

Here are the Cubs concerns for the following season

#1 Will Mark Teixiera be the Cubs HR champ with the teams worse BA?

#2 Will Aubrey Huff do bad in Defense like he is known to do?

#3 Not only will Teixiera have good contact but will he OR Kearns break over the .260 mark?

#4 Will the bottom portion of the staff pan out (Rueter, Tomko)

#5 Will Harden be as good as expected or are his Peak 75 Rating the best I should ever expect?

#6 Will Brandon Webb have a Cy Young season or do I need to wait couple years?

Next up April

BBMogulLover21

Good luck with the Kimster

Don't want to tell you ahead of time what is going on but I will tell you this so far I'm in July and he has been awesome

BBMogulLover21
08-31-2004, 07:47 PM
April- 12-11 2 back of Houston and 1.5 from Wild Card
Team BA- .249
Team ERA- 4.12

Come on now, 12-11.... how sad is this.... things better improve on the North Side of Chicago.

-Ichiro is batting a robust .402
-T-man (Teixiera) has a .207 BA (Which was one of my concerns)
-Kearns is hitting .205 (another concern)
-Rueter is 1-3 10.64 ERA... you got to be freakin kidding me?!?! One more month of chances or you are out!!!
-Brandon Webb is 2-0 with a 1.62 ERA THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. I know it's soon but Cy Young here we come :p
- Rich Harden has a 6.14 ERA
So far my concerns are a BIG concern.

Next up is May

BBMogulLover21
08-31-2004, 08:02 PM
Ahhh the month of May... when things start to flourish a bit more than they did after April was done.... let us take a look back at this great month :-D

The Cubs started by winning 9 of the first ten games of the month outscoring their opponents 74-33 ( 11 of those 33 runs scored runs by the opponent was a 12-11 nail Biter that the Cubs beat Colorado in Chicago.... not in Colorado) this game went to 16 innings..... Rockies took a 2 run lead in the top of the 16th to later see Mike Lowell hit a 3 run homer in the bottom of the 16th to win the game

Cubs Record for the Month: 19-8
Season Record: 31-19
5.5 Games Up

-Ichiro's BA has dropped to .350.... still not to bad now is it? :-)
- T-Man Leads the team in homers with 10 but has a .217 BA
- Rueter continues his struggle with a7.42 ERA and 3-4 record..... Guess what buddy?! You have now found yourself in the minors. Tim Redding who has had a .75 ERA in Long Relief will gladly take your place :-)
- Tomko sure has fit in the bill... He is the teams win and ERA leader with a 8-2 Record and a 2.39 ERA.... guess I should have only been worried about Rueter?
-Harden, Harden, Harden.... how can you let me down like this? 7.08 ERA in 20.1 IP? Guess what you are going to the Minors too.... Hopefully there you will develop into what I expect over there. Brandon Duckworth has been called up to take your place. UH OH..... One Problem..... Nothing else in my Farm System is good enough to fill in the pitching pen.... and Rueter and Harden are already on their way to Iowa, Guess it is time for a trade.... not a big one.... just one for a fill in pitcher.

I know the trade happened in June.... but hey it's June 1st so heck who cares....

Cubs Trade Mike Edwards to Atlanta for John Halama. One More thing.... Todd Walker has now taken over the #2 spot and Guzman is batting 7th.

Next up is the month of June.... Let's see how this goes.!

BBMogulLover21
08-31-2004, 08:08 PM
It is now the end of June.... how nice it is to see this club match basically what they did last month.... here are the #'s

June- 18-9
Season Record- 49-28
7.5 Games Up
Team BA .271
Team ERA 3.62

-Ichiro has brought down his average significantly to a .327 mark.
-T-Man has actually brought up his BA to 240 and has 15 HR's
- Kearns must be competing with T-man for BA title between them too, He has a .256 BA with 12 homers (God I hate bad contact)
-Kimster has a 1.90 ERA going 15-15 in Save Oppurtunities (See what I told you Michael? hehe, now hopefully he will keep it up.
-Duckworth has a 5.40 ERA, which isn't great at all but much better than Rueter and Harden were doing.
-Halama has a 1.42 ERA with the Cubs in 6.1 IP ever since he joined the club.

Next Up there is a midseason Report..... and my All Star game players

BBMogulLover21
08-31-2004, 08:19 PM
Midseason Report (this is not at the All- Star Break this is when my club was at the half way point of the season with 81 games played)

Team Record- 51-30
-Team BA .272 It sure has risen a bit hasn't it?
-Team ERA 3.72 2nd in the Majors behind the Giants.
-Batter with the best BA- Albert Pujols has a .376 BA for the Oakland A's
-Piazza has been doing a great job playing for Colorado..... He leads the Majors in Homers with 32 and in RBI's with 89, and has the 2nd best BA at 360. Triple Crown Award calling in his favor??
- Juan Pierre Leads the Majors in Steals with 39 SB's
- Roger Clemens of Atlanta and Ramon Ortiz of the Phillies have 12 wins.
- Barry Zito of the Giants leads the Majors in ERA at 1.97.

All Star Game
The Cubs only have 1 All-Star this season...????? That is so sad... teams in first should have SO much more.! Guess who it is, Brett Tomko 12-5 Record 3.28 ERA

The AL walloped the NL 8-1 and the NL only got themselves 2 hits in the game, both of them by Alfonso Soriano. Brett Tomko pitched 2 innings giving up 0 hits and struck out 1.

Next Up- The Entire month of July

BBMogulLover21
08-31-2004, 08:31 PM
Ahhh things were not as good in July compared to the other months except for one long game winning streak which included a no hitter but here are the numbers-

Month Record- 17-10
Season Record 66-38
8 games over the Pirates
273 BA
3.61 ERA still 2nd best

The team went on a 9 game winning streak where they outscored the opponents 51-17... On July 20th Roy Halladay pitched a No Hitter versus the Cubs rivals the Cardinals.... yeah you heard that Card fans you were no hit by US!!!

Mike Lowell and T-mas have 22 homers sharing the HR lead in the team Lowell has a 283 BA, T-mas 241

-Ichiro is batting 326 best in the team

-Webb has a 10-5 record 2.92 ERA
-Halladay is 10-7 3.63 ERA and a no hitter versus the Cards (will always rub it in :p )
- Tomko is 13-5 3.56 ERA
-Halama has pitched 12 innings and has a .75 ERA since he was traded.... woohooo Halama.
- Duckworth has brought his ERA down to 3.96
- Kim has a 2.88 ERA with 19-20 Saves
Koch.... is killing us at the set up role with a 5.08 ERA

The Cubs have the best Record in the NL and the A's have the best record overall with a .699 Win % their team BA is .305 this season.

Worst team is the Indians 34-70.

At the moment the Expos have a 0.5 lead over the Pirates for the Wildcard.

Next up- August.... I am going to try to issue this out to you as soon as possible but may not be able to until later tonight

BBMogulLover21
08-31-2004, 09:02 PM
I guess I was able to fit August in..... but things are looking scary for this club.....they were only 14-14 this month making them be 80-52 for the season. Phillies have a 9 game winning streak and now are tied with me for the best Win-Loss Record in the NL.... While Oakland is now over the .700% mark.

-Ichiro is still my main contact hitter at .329
T-man has taken over the HR lead with 30 but a .258 BA
Webb is now 12-7 with a 2.80 ERA
-Tomko's ERA has gone all the way to 4.07 and is 15-7

With one month remaining things are shaping up in Records.
Pujols still has the best BA at .356 for Oakland.
-Piazza has gone downhill in BA now at .327 even in the Colorado thin Air.
- Thome leads the Majors in HR's with 4 for yet again OAKLAND, right behind him with 46 is his *sighs* Oakland teamate Pujols.
- Leading the Majors in RBI's is Sammy Sosa with 135.... guess what! He's not a Athletic he's a Dodger :-D.
- In Wins there is a tie with Kerry Wood (An Athletic) and Pedro Martinez From the Blue Jays with 16
In ERA It's Martinez again with a 1.65
In Strikeouts..... Martinez has 216 K's which means if he passes up Wood in Wins... he will be the Triple Crown Pitcher of the AL

Game 1 versus The Montreal Expos

The game was tied 3-3 going into the 9th inning until the Kimster came in the game in the 9th and he did mess up indeed giving up 4 runs in 0.2 IP, but none were earned runs, and Lidge gave up 1 run in 0.1 IP which also wasn't earned We lost 8-3....

Game 2 versus the Montreal Expos

It is the bottom of the 9th..... we're down 2-0 WHAT to do.... what to do.... Is there a Billy Goat in the field.... if there is get him out NOW!!!! Oh look! Lowell has just tied the game with a 2 run homer! Can we get more? Oops 3rd out... guess we are playing extra innings! In the 11th inning 1 out Toby Borland pitching Huff comes to bat and its a HR!! Cubs WIN Cubs WIN Cubs WIN!! The goat must have left building!

Game 3 versus the Monreal Expos

Hey Scorey.... I used just the regular game how it comes the natural one.... please dont take offense to me not using yours and Rotochamp's I am just not fully computer literate... and kept it the way it was LOL. Have hard enough time doing the Computer Patches LOL.

Before I tell you about the Cubs versus Phillies matchup let me just say how things have gone in the other matchups

White Sox swept the Rangers 3-0
Oakland beat the Yankees 3-1 (Now there's a surprise, huh? (Sense my sarcasm?) lol
Philadelphia swept the Giants 3-0

Philadelphia's main players consisted of Nomo, Sheets and Richie Sexson

On to game one versus the Phillies ( Who I think are not all that they make themselves to look like)

Game 1 versus the Phillies:

Well I guess this is what I get for talking garbage about the Phillies day before gametime..... Hideo Nomo threw a 5 hit Complete Game Shout-out versus us. The Club lost 6-0.

Game 2 versus Phillies

You got to be friggin' kidding me....... 2-0 Bottom of the 9th inning.... Teixiera hits a solo HR to make it 2-1..... Do I see a come back rising like game 2 versus the Expos?? Where is that goat again!! Grrr Kearns and Guzman both fly out after the HR and we lose 2-1..... We are down 2-0 having played both games at home????? Not good... not good at all!

Game 3 versus Phillies

Muahahaha... we were down 4-1 in the top of the 5th but then scored a run in the 5th then again in the 7th and then two in the 8th giving us a 5-4 lead..... and guess what... we kept the lead.... We are now down only 2-1!

Game 4 versus Phillies...
Well.... game is all tied up at 7-7 in the 10th.... and we win the game on a bunch of hits.... we scored 2 runs.... woo.... Tie series. :).... now time for revenge versus Nomo!

Game 5 versus Phillies
Well..... we sure didn't get that revenge versus Nomo...we got hammered yet again..... 7-2 Loss.... Nomo pitched 8 Innings, gave up 2 runs and struck out 10..... We are going home to Chicago needing the last two games... I don't care what anyone says Webb is starting one game early to beat these kids. BRING IN THE RALLY CAPS!

Game 6 versus Phillies
Webb is pitching... and guess what...... CUBS WIN CUBS WIN!! Webb pitched a gem 8 IP... maybe he gave up 7 hits but atleast he didn't give any runs and struck out 10.... No Homers were hit but the Cubs won 2-0..... I guess it's time to bring in game 7?

Game 7 versus Phillies
Ohh the suspense....... Adam Eaton who was expected to start actually turned out to be injured ohhh what to do..... Halama is now starting in a crucial Game 7... I know he has been awesome but Game 7? Halama? Could it be done? Could it be done? I sure hope so! Let's see: YES IT SURE WAS! The Cubs go to the World Series! Halama pitched good enough! 6 IP 1 run given up and the Cubs pitching has taken this team to the World Series The Cubs win 3-1..... but ahhh.... who will there counterparts be? Please don't tell me the A's.... Well Im sorry but it is the A's... who defeated the White Sox 4-1 in the ALCS.... Now this will be tough. , and with Eaton out 6 days I guess Tomko will be starting in the playoffs after all

Next Up The World Series.

BBMogulLover21
09-01-2004, 02:59 AM

Game 1 of the World Series versus the A's ( Boy have these Cubs been waiting for this)

What do you know.... a former Cub rains on the Cubs parade.... Kerry Wood has defeated the Cubs in game one by the score of 5-0..... sad enough he only allowed 3 hits as it is in the entire game ..... We will get him back in Game 5 no worries here. No homers or hits for Thome or Pujols going a combined 0-4.... we walked Pujols 3 times

Game 2:

Did you see that? Ohhh yeahhhh! We won We won! The Cubs have won Game 2 over Javier Vazquez..... The score was 3-1 Halladay pitched a CG giving up only one run and 6 hits. Thome went 0-4 and Pujols went 1-4. Vazquez didn't do bad though 6.2 IP 3 ER.....

Game 3:

Wow.... talk about lots of hits and runs.... both the Cubs and A's got 20 hits in this game.... question is who got the most runs? Sad enough.... the A's defeated the Cubs in Wrigley 10-7. You got to be kidding me!! and worse of all it was done in extra innings where the A's pounded 3 runs by having 5 hits.... No homers in that inning. Randy Wolf hit a homer versus us.... Dang AL Pitchers.... thinking they need to proove something! Thome went 1-4 Pujols went 2-7

Game 4:

CUBS WINNN!..... Cubs scored 6 runs between the 7th and 8th innings even though they had been losing and despite efforts by Oakland to catch up scoring one in the 9th the Cubs win game four to tie the Series. Both Thome and Pujols hit homers :(... but hey who cares we won! Cubs won 9-6..... Time for Webb!

Game 5:

Lookie here Lookie here Lookie here.... if it isn't Webb versus Wood again. What will happen this time? Will Wood shut the team down again? The Cubs have different plans! In the Second inning the Cubs took a 2 run lead to later see the A's get 3 in the 6th.... Uh oh 3-2 score.... But if it isn't for the 7th inning..... Wow that 7th inning stretch by the drunk Ditka must have motivated them to score 2 more runs and that is where it remained.... the Cubs won 4-3!!! Ditka is a savior! Webb pitched 6 innings no earned runs 3 Runs allowed. Thome was 1-3 and Pujols was 1-4

Cubs need one more win to break the curse of the Billy Goat!!!!

Game6 :

Would love to get more detailed but it's 1:15 AM and I want to go to bed and im not ecstatic because the Cubs just lost by the score of 4-2.... not only that but Thome hit two homers and Pujols was 3-4 .... It will all fall down to game 7!

Game 7:

CUBS HAVE BROKEN THE CURSE...! Tim Redding and company has broken the Curse.... Let everyone in Chicago go wild! The Cubs have defeated the Oakland A's who were favorites by the score of 4-3 Thome hit a homer again and went 3-5 but hey who cares... the Cubs win!!! I LOVE THIS GAME!

Now off to bed for me.... lol.... hope to do some work on this team tomorrow! Please give me comments as to how you like this.

BBMogulLover21
09-01-2004, 11:09 AM
It's that time of year..... where the club has to say whether the players stay or go...... we are on a tight budget despite making 32.2 Million this season, we plan on always staying below the payroll Limit.... and we know we are going to resign Webb to whatever he wants so lets see how things went.

Brandon Webb wanted 9.0 Million for 7 years... guess what buddy you got it..... nothing can stop you from playing on this team!
Ray Olmedo- despite not even being in the bench last season the fact he only wanted 300K the minimum made me sign him for one year.
-John Halama and what he did for this club last season has given us good enough reason to resign him to a 3 year 1.2 million dollar contract.
-Austin Kearns.... it was a good one season, but 3.5 million for a man who bats in the .250 mark is not good enough with me, good luck wherever you go.
-The CPU signed a player for us to fill our roster slots since we also let go of players like Lou Collier and Jose Macias
-Francisco Cordero- very proud of him last season but was asking for too much.
-We also let go of 37 year old pitcher Dave Burba.

We are now in need to Sign FA's..... I want to get myself a starter and a reliever who won't make us sign long term and not a whole lot of money in order to stay under budget.

TJ Tucker has been signed for 1.4 million for 2 seasons. He was 2-3 with a 4.73 ERA last season for the Expos hopefully that will drop a bit.

For SP.... My first choice was Mark Redman...... but apparently when I rolled the dice he didn't want anything to do with us. Maybe its from last year's NLCS? Or maybe it is that the Yankees are the team that is about to sign him..... So we went after Dontrelle Willis another guy from the Marlins of couple seasons ago and a man we defeated in the WS versus Oakland last season..... well he sure did sign with us a 5.6 million contract for 2 seasons.

Our payroll is now like 1 million over expected..... I am going to trade couple players ONLY for cash..... Rueter and his 4.1 million contract... and Lima with his million dollar contract..... Boston wants them for 3 million..... There ya go Boston our gift to you :)

Now time to sign a couple more very cheap FA's for my bench since it is empty..... These guys who are cheap and currently have no team trying to sign them to a contract come to me if the dice rolls a 1,2,3 or 4..... It's the teams in negotations with another team that it has to be 1-3.

Rontrez Johnson 2 years 300K
Travis Dawkins 2 years 300K
Chin-Feng Chen 2 years 860K ( biggest steal of the cheap FA)

Next up the draft.

Kearns- Phillies ( I dont think he's one of the best just updating you where he is going)

Millwood- Cardinals
Oswalt- Red Sox
Clemens- Mets
Redman- Yankees
Cordero- Dodgers (Yet again just updating you.

Ok couple things have changed since I last posted.... my power went out for one second while I was doing the draft so I was taken back to the FA signing period I signed everyone I had signed earlier for the same amounts but some FA's are going to different teams.

Thome is staying with the Yankees
Sosa is still going to Rockies
Piazza chose to go to the Yankees rather than Tigers
Bonds decided to go to the Tigers feeling bad that Piazza didn't go there
Crawford has decided to go to the Mets

Millwood still wants the Cardinals
Oswalt is still looking for a home in Red Sox Country
Clemens is coming back to the Red Sox
Redman... still doesn't want to come back to me yet decided not to be a Yankee he wants to be a Anaheim Angel.

#1 pick is Kyle Vertex.... of the Indians 24 years old 78-94
86 contact, 89 power
#2 pick is Enrico Urrutia of the Reds 21 years old 76-91
#3 pick is Arvin Krankota of the Mariners 20 years old 66-93 only has 64 contact

My 29th pick is going to 18 year old SP Ben Grabowski. 71-89
90 Endurance
82 Control
76 Power
75 Movement

This kid is much better than my pick before my power went out LOL.

Despite their being much better pitchers than the 1B I chose to be my 2nd pick I had to do it because I am in need of more batters so my 2nd round pick goes to 23 year old Joe Brooks. 67-82.

73 Contact.
76 Power
76 Eye
74 Arm
82 Range
93 Fielding
96 Health.

This was the man with the best overall numbers without anything lower than 70..... and although the contact is low... much better than most of the others who had a contact of 55-68

My 3rd pick goes to Charlie Wineberg a RP, believe it or not the best player around. Even for pitchers. 22 years old 69-77
74 Control
78 Power
79 Movement

Lets just hurry up through the other 3 picks...... not much talent left anyway.
4th round pick Enrico Bricenos 23 years old 61-73. RF
5th pick Reggie Stratton 23 years old. 58-69 3B
6th Toby Miller 19 years old. 54-66. Catcher

Next up Lineup.

Before the lineup.... couple trades were made..... I thought to myself I didn't want T'man's contract at 4.6 million with that low Contact..... so I decided I wanted to go after the #1 pick 1B Kyle Vertex.... Yes Vertex has MUCH worse defense than the T-mas..... but his Contact and even power is better than the T-man.... plus his pay is for 6 years at 300K. It was a straight trade of T-man for Vertex.

I then went and traded Bricenos and Brooks two of my picks along with Tomko for Casey.... in case Vertex struggles his first year.... but Vertex will be my starter.

Lineup
Ichiro S (89)
T Walker (83)
M Lowell (83)
A. Huff (91)
C. Feng (74-78) Dont let this underestimate you great Ratings
K. Vertex (78-91)
C. Guzman (76)
M. Lieberthal (88)

Pitchers
R. Halladay (95)
B Webb(91)
D. Willis (83-86)
A. Eaton (81)
T. Redding (78)
Bullpen
B Kim (93)
B Koch (82)
B Lidge (78-79)
TJ Tucker (73-75)
B Duckworth (73)
R Harden (72-75)

Questions for 2005.

#1 Will the Cubs win two Championships in a row?
#2 Will Ichiro hit over 320 again this season
#3 Will Lowell and Huff show their leadership as far as batting is concerned.
#4 Will Feng and Vertex bat better than Kearns and T-man did?
#5 Will Casey need to take over the 1B spot anytime this season for a struggling Vertex?
#6. What kind of performance will Willis put up this season?
#7. Will Webb have a Cy Young type season, and actually make it to the All Star Game.
#8 Will the Kimster continue what he did last season?
#9 Can Koch improve his ERA?
#10 Will TJ Tucker have a great or bad season?
#11 Will Rich Harden improve from what he did last season...

A side note I decided to give Halama the job versus Duckworth after what he did last season.... but things can always change.

It is now the end of April and once again the team has struggled in the beggining.... the Club has started 11-12.... and is 2 games back of the Pirates. They have a team BA of .273 and a ERA of 4.28.

Aubrey Huff is doing awesome though. .338 BA 8 HR's 15 RBI's
Todd Walker is batting below the Mendoza line at .198.
Lowell is at .329 and Vertex is actually hitting in his rookie year .313 BA with two homers.

Webb is struggling with a 5.4 ERA 2-3 record
Willis has a 5.68 ERA
I guess I should have taken Michael's advice Kimster has 7.36 ERA 6-7 in saves.
Halama is doing bad also 8.31 ERA but in only 4.1 IP
Harden is doing great. 1.04 ERA 8.1 IP

Next up May... the time of year I do subsitutions.

BBMogulLover21

May has come around.... and maybe it's not like last year's Numbers.... but hey guess what! The Cubs are in 1st place nontheless..... Maybe we didn't do as good this month as May last year but it still happened.

Month Record 18-11
Season Record 29-23
Ahead of the division by 2.5 games
.273 BA
4.02 ERA

Walker is now batting .261... pretty good month huh? :)
Huff is batting 330 16 homers
Lowell has 317 BA 11 homers.
Vertex is still batting over 300 with a .325 BA wooo!
Lieberthal is now the one struggling with a 222 BA..... I would love to bench him but Im not going to make a trade for a catcher.... and Im afraid Fordyce wouldn't do much better. So good luck Lieberthal.

Halladay now has a 2.51 ERA yet is only 5-4
Webb has brought his ERA to 4.23 and is 6-5
Willis continues his problems in Chicago 5.70 ERA luckilly he is 4-1
Guess what! He may be young but 18 year old star Grabowski is going to make the club. he has a 2.64 ERA in AAA, and I have had enough of Koch with a 6.41 ERA so believe it or not Harden will now be set up man and Grabowski Alternate Starter... good luck to me!

Next up June!
