View Full Version : Rookies: hitters vs. pitchers

I'm curious if anyone else notices this.

In every league I've been in, I've noticed that I get much better hitting prospects than pitching prospects. I get a hitter every two or three years with a couple A-s and B+s, but the best starting pitcher I ever get has maybe 2 C+ and a B- (not counting endurance). Therefore I spend tons of cash on free agent pitchers.

Thoughts?

It's tough to get good rookie pitchers in Baseball Mogul Online. Maybe that's the way it should be though because as leagues get older pitching tends to dominate.

In the NPL we are in our sixteenth season and while my team is doing well I will be lucky to have a single player get over 20 home runs. And not only do homers go down over time so do runs scored and runs batted in.

I think Sport Mogul is working to correct this problem which may explain why rookie pitchers are for the most part only average or slightly better than average.

Also try spending more on farm teams. I think you will see better pitching prospects if you do this.

Schaefling is right once again. The farm system is designed to maintain a balance between pitching and hitting. If the balance sways too far in one direction, it is designed to compensate and produce better players to counteract the inbalance.
