I noticed in a game recap that John Rocker pitched 8 innings in relief without giving up a run. How long would he be able to go? As far as I'm concerned, 8 is BS!!!

We'll take a look. Only people in your league can view the boxscore. Can you cut and paste it for everyone to see?
Thanks.
Tom
This has happened to me several times. A game goes deeper into extra innings than expected, and the last reliever available is forced to pitch until the end of the game, and often act like they have the endurance of a starter. Is this the case?

Attached is a txt file of the box score and play by play. Notice Rocker pitched effectively for 8.0 innings for the Braves in relief. This is highly unlikely to say the least.
Another problem with this box score is that Cincinnati's pitchers recorded only 15.0 innings pitched, while the game went 17.0 full innings.
Thank you for your attention to these errors,

If Rocker can do half that for the Rangers, I'm sure they'll be more than happy with him.
If a game goes into extra innings the closer will usually remain in until the game is over. I've noticed several times the closer has stayed in for 5 or more innings. The game used to delve into the minors when the pitching staff gave out. Piniella left Mesa in one time until he gave up 11 earned runs (vengence was his).
I've been impressed how the AI uses the 5th starter as long reliever in playoffs.
