After the trading deadline, should teams that are eliminated from playoff contention be allowed to trade with each other?

The season drags out sooooooooslow after the trading deadline if you are out of it. It would give you something to do as well as get a jump on fixing whats wrong with your team.
I say YES!

Make the trade deadline more like real baseball's, with trading in August after the player passes through wavers. I would also say that as teams are elimated, they should be able to make trades up until the playoffs. The playoffs should be a showcase of the top teams, not a trading frensy. That's just my oppinon, whats yours?

i like chris200000's idea of being able to make the trade but not being able to play the guy till the next season. The only problem with letting eliminated teams trade players is that they have an advantage that the better teams don't. Why should the good teams be penalized for winning? I say the BBM masterminds should implement chris20000001' idea.

Yes... but only if you institute waivers as well. :)

1 deadline is the july 31 deadline...the next deadline in baseball is the aug 31 deadline...i like the idea of adding that deadline as well...but the rule is those players can't play in the playoffs...how you could keep track of that i don't know but i would like to see that added...along with waivers

I really don't see how you could implement waivers. By the time that teams will have had a chance to see what players are on waivers up to 60 games could have simmed (assuming owners check once a day).

Perhaps you could institute a time limit, but then there are still issues. For example, the waiver claims go in order of record, so the teams that are worse have first claim. Maybe every team could have the option of claiming and the player would go to the worst team (at the time of placing the player on waiver, not at the end of the time limit) who made a claim.

I apologize if this isn't clear. I'm sort of thinking on paper (as it were) here. Waivers is something I've been considering since the beta days and trying to figure out how to make it work - it's just been tough because everything moves so fast.
