Do rookies develop into better players as they get older, or spend more time in the minors?

Does promoting a player to the majors too soon disrupt that development?

Rookies/prospects develop best by playing. Your prospects will develop faster by playing in AAA than they will sitting on your major league bench. You can play them in the majors right away, but they'll perform better after some seasoning in AAA.
