Hey all,
Scorey and I have taken some time off from the universe with baseball in a bit of a lull at the moment. As the hot stove heats up and we see some more transactions we'll look at an updated universe.

In the meantime, what I need from you all are errors that you may have noticed with things such as player positions, birthdays, teams, even ratings.

Note: I'm cool with people challenging the ratings, but please be prepared to back your opinion up. In some cases I may have just missed someone, but in many cases I had a very good reason for the rating. But I'm open to changes if you can convince me. On the same note, let us know if guys aren't progressing as you might expect (or at all). So if you notice guys that consistently have high peaks but don't pan out, let us know. And by consistently, I mean that you've run many different sims at different levels (i.e. Fan, Mogul, etc.)

Some changes that will we've already identified and will be included:

1) Freddy Guzman CF (SDP) - move from LF to CF
2) Mike Gonzalez, P (PIT) - Raise ratings a bit
3) Bobby Madritsch, P (SEA) - Lower ratings a bit

We look forward to hearing the feedback. Thanks!

Guys,

Is there a way to change Guzman to CF without having his defense ratings go downhill?

Guys,

Is there a way to change Guzman to CF without having his defense ratings go downhill? Unfortunately no. To change his position, you'll need to adjust his defensive projections. This was a mistake on our part and his ratings at current reflect what he should've been rated at CF defensively.

He's playing Winter League Ball currently, but that's also not very representative of what to expect, typically. I'd suspect that you may see him show up whenever the 2004 amatuer draftees show up in the universe...that is, once we've had a chance to evaluate him.

I don't suspect that he'll be playing that the Major League level immediately and may need a couple of years in the minors. Cuban position players haven't had the same success as Cuban pitchers have, so I'm very hesitant to jump to conclusions without seeing some sort of numbers from him against Minor or Major League talent.

JD Drew I still feel is sorely underrated offensively. While I somewhat disagree with the injury rating as well, I can understand it, but his ratings don't reflect his talent or level of play. His numbers should more reflect that of say Bobby Abreu in Philadelphia, which the two players share a lot of the same skills.

Andruw Jones's defense numbers look low to me, but I trust you on that :).

Mike Hampton's contract is all wrong as far as the brave's side is concerned. They reworked his contract so that he makes 8,000,000 a year. I know you can't reflect the payments of other teams, but that is what the Braves are paying him, not 13.5 million.
