Tied teams

Two teams tied for second with 92-70 records. One team was awarded 2nd place and the other 3rd. Why? How?

Usually there is a 1-game playoff, game played on Oct 1st or 2nd, i forget which. This happened to me a few days ago, and I lost the 1-game playoff.

There was no playoff, or if there was I can find no record of it. The Calendar section shows playoffs but not the teams in question. Thanks for the suggestion; it should be correct, but ---

Isn't it based on which team had the better record when the two teams played each other?

The teams played 19 times and second place went to the team that won 10 games and third to the team that won 9; close race. Thanks again; just wondered.

I think someone had a thread on this a couple days ago...that's why I remembered.
