rosters have been bothering me since 2k5 came out... first i wasn't planning on buying 2k5 because i had 2k4, but the rosters wouldn't work so i did, now that i have bought it, it refuses to accept any of the rosters made in the 2k5 forums, but chooses to accept the 2k4 rosters... not only is this a bug (maybe only in my game) but i wasn't planning on buying 2k5 in the first place :(

I still don't completely understand why the rosters aren't working for you...they seem to work for everyone else. So although i'm sure you've already been told how to get this to work..maybe we should try again and you tell me whats wrong with it. So you go and get the universe of these forums. Say Scorey and Roto's, so you download it to your Baseball 2005 folder. Save the file as Universe, overwrite the original. Then check to make sure the file is a DAT file and not something weird like a MOG file, like all your saved games. Then click on your Baseball Mogul icon on your desktop or wherever you have it, and if it really should come up with the rosters. If not, you might've deleted an essential file or something like that... I mean you seem to have been a Mogul fan as long as me. And we want you to STAY a Mogul fan. I hope this helps...

this game is sooo **** addictive... but yea, i've had bbm since 2003 and i have used the rosters continuously... it can't be a missing file because i have reinstalled it numerous times... the odd thing... 2k3 rosters work... but as soon as i put in the updated 2k5 rosters... it says universe.dat is not found

Make sure there is a universe.dat in the baseball mogul folder with the .exe.

That is a very strange problem. I can't think of anything that would break 2005 .dat files but let 2004 files work just fine.
It might be that the files are being corrupted when they get downloaded.. maybe the browser is saving the files wrong.
One thing to try is rename it to a .mog file and click on it in the Resume Game dialog... that sometimes can give more information on what is wrong with a file.
Grasping for straws here, but it might not be a 2004/2005 issue. You might just be unlucky and all the 2004 files you tried downloaded OK but the 2005 ones didn't. It would be a coincidence, but stranger stuff happens all the time.
Let me know if you still have problems and I can take a look at the file and see what the problem with it is.
Good luck.

it shouldnt be an exe file...
you need to make sure that the file type is .dat
if it is a .mog file.
put it in your baseball 2005 folder.
then open up resume game...orsomething to that extent....then play with the new rosters...
