I've just added 20 new stats (below) to the Leaders Page. These are in addition to the 36 included with BB2K5.

These will also be tracked in All-Time Leaders (so, for example, you can try to pass Bobby Bonds on the single-season strikeout leader list, if that's your main goal in life).

You can also view leaders for the current AAA season (like in BB2K5) and now also for AA, A, and R.

PITCHING
Opp. OPS
Strikeouts / 9 IP
Hits / 9 IP
Walks / 9 IP
Hit Batters
Innings / Game
Homers Allowed
GIDP Induced

BATTING
At Bats
Plate Appearances
Extra Base Hits
Isolated Power
Secondary Average
Hit By Pitch
Runs Created
Runs Created / 27
Home Run Percent
Strikeout Percent
Strikeouts
Double Plays (GIDP)

The question is, are there any stats that I forgot?

OK. I've added:

Fielding Percentage, by position
Range Factor, by position
Outfield Assists

(BTW, David Eckstein led all Shortstops with a .988 Fielding Average in 2004).

:)

Yeah those are a little tricky cuz then I need to add a way to pick which position you want to see sorted.

Are Win Shares feasible?

Nope. I'm sticking to stats this version that can be calculated by looking at just one player's stats. So, for example, Total Player Rating would also be out, since it requires comparing the player to the average at his position (although this would be easier than Win Shares).

Okay, that's understandable. What about something like DIPS ERA?

I'd have to check the formula, but I think we can do some DIPS stuff (Defense Independent Pitching Stats).

what are win shares?

Win Shares (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1931584036/qid=1105515773/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl14/104-6572659-5968711?v=glance&s=books&n=507846) is a book by Bill James that assigns "Win Shares" to each player according to:

1) That player's stats
2) The games won by his team that year

So if the 2004 Red Sox won 98 games, Win Shares are allocated to everyone who played on the team such that the 98 wins are divvied up.

(Actually, 294 "Win Shares" would be divvied up, because James assigns 3 Win Shares for each win -- primarily, it seems, to have enough actual shares to go around)

This reflects the theory that although stats are useful for determining a player's value, they don't measure everything -- and wins are the final arbiter of success. If a team is "good enough" to win 88 games, but they win 98, then the players on the team should all get some credit for those extra wins. Traditional formulae (like James' "Runs Created") don't try to divvy up the credit for wins.

could that be part of the reason why the minor league players ask for so much money when they've never even been on a major league team? lol I think that makes sense with how much they ask for sometimes.

What about BB/K ratio for batters?

I would love to see Win Shares in the game but I think it would decrease the excitement of the game if we were able to see who contributes the most to a ballclub.

Well we already sort of can with what we have; I mean, looking at OPS, baserunning and fielding and just eyeballing it is usually good enough.
