View Full Version : Change Stats Display on Lineup + Pitching Screens
Currently, the Lineup screen is hard-coded to show position, average, HR, OBA and SB. It would be nice to be able to change these headings ( like you can in the Roster Screen ).
For example, I like to make my lineups based on Production ( OBA + SLG ) and it would be nice to have this on the screen to make the changes, rather than outputting the stats and doing it through Excel like I do now.
The same could be done for the Pitching screen but I don't have any problems with the stats currently displayed there by default.

I think this is a great idea, but at the same time, I would rather see 6 total stats...7 including position at one time with the ablity to change them.

I would like the ability to lock in a ML roster so that the auto sort could be used without players getting replaced and what not. But I would also like to be able to select what stats are shown too.

 Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe auto-sort just sorts the starting lineup for each game.
It seems that what you want is a way to not give players days off. Unless they're injured, you want them in the lineup, right?

when you push the auto sort button.
the game will put the players where they think are the best. DL players go to the bottom of the AAA. While some developing Players will come up, and even start for you.
Same goes for pitching.
Now if you are talking about the Auto sort when player is injured box. That will only do the starting line up and bench. Bullpen and Starters....but only if somebody is hurt.

What I want is to be able to pick my starters, because alot of times I disagree with what the game believes is my best ML roster, but I don't want to have to go thru all the minor leaguers and what not to fill a slot if one of my ML's get hurt. So I don't want to hit Auto-sort and have the game send a 10 million dollar a year player to the minors who is having a pretty good year and place either one of my bench guys or a minor leaguer in their place. I've had reigning Cy Young and MVP winners pulled from the lineup like that. I just want to be able to say this is the lineup I want out there most days if everyone is healthy, if theres a major injury I want that players slot filled with the best availible player, but I want the injured player to have that slot back when he's healthy.
Basically I want the convience of auto sort, but I want to select what I feel is the best ML roster.

Schellis, Bobby's post pretty much sums it up. I originally thought that you wanted healthy players to play 162 games, but based on your most recent post, I'd recommend checking "Auto-Sort lineup for injuries" and just staying away from the Auto-Sort box. That's how I play.
Let me know if I'm still missing your point.

Just played a season with that turned on. Didn't work, basically just played the bench and didn't call up minor leaguers to fill in for the injured ML guys. I play six teams each year and not one of them have any minor league players that saw any service time in the active season.

Hmm... auto-sort for injury appears to be working properly. If my starting RF is injured, BBM will assume that I want to use my top OF off the bench, just like my manager would do in real life. If the guy that is down in the minors is who you wanted to fill in, you're going to need to put him on your bench.
I play by checking "Auto-Sort lineup for injuries" and staying away from the Auto-Sort box and then I turn on my injury contingency, so that I can decide who to bring up.
In summary, it sounds like you're looking for a hybrid auto-sort, one that sends injured players to the DL, brings up minor leaguers in case of injury, but doesn't demote any of the players you have placed in the starting lineup or on the bench.
I'd vote for that, but it isn't currently an option with which I'm familiar.

Thats exactly what I want. Something that will give you a full roster of healthy players but return the injured guy back to the lineup when healthy, and won't pull players out of the lineup whenever the IA believes that there is a better lineup. Right now I have a guy hitting .330 with 25 homers in less then 400 AB's and the AI keeps wanting to pull him out of the lineup for a minor leaguer. I have no idea why since even at his peak the minor leaguer isn't as good a player as the regular. Though perhaps its to better the bench since that guy is playing DH even though he's really a CF, and a good one at that.
