Yeah, he gets fed after Daphnie, or he's waiting for her to go away, and he'll eat her food.

Basset hounds are very loyal, and they are like having a big dog, but they are short, so its easy to bring them places, like the car...

Loyal? Tell me about it! That dog loves his mommy more than anything! He waits at the door for her to come home. Doesn't with me, only sometimes. If I am playing around with her and she says Colby help mommy, he jumps and tries to bite me. Playing around of course, but he will protect her for real. Someone tried to grab her in our back yard, and Colby nearly took his head off.

Most dogs are like that, some more than others. I think that its in their genes to protect their masters, and vice versa. Beanie tries to bite me when my mom hugs me.
Chuckie is very loyal, and he guards the house too... When something threatening is outside, like a deer or moose, or coyote, he runs outside and barks. Same thing with snowblowers...
